Impossible to predict. Because you have not submitted your police certificate if I had to guess I would say at least two months or more.
My police certificate was delivered to cic office on the 20th of June 2016 like a week ago.

Ok at least two months from last week. Honestly it is very difficult to predict but that would be a general guideline.

Hello,
My husband is a permanent resident in Canada. We've been dating with my husband for 3 years and we have been visiting each other.
We got married last month in Turkey. Now he has to go back to Canada, and he wants to sponsor me so we can be together.
He has some savings, but he doesn't work at the moment as he came to Turkey and had to stay here for a while since we got married. So he's gonna start working once he returns back to Canada, but I don't know if he's eligible to sponsor me while he's not working. So I need your opinions on that. Btw I have a tourist visa to Canada, it's valid for another 6 months.
What do we need to do, and where do we need to start?
Can I go to Canada with my valid tourist visa and stay with him for a while while he starts the process of sponsoring me?
Waiting for your replies,
Thanks!

Yes, to all of your questions. ;)

Because he is not a Canadian citizen, he needs to return to, and remain in, Canada before the sponsorship application can be submitted. You can come to visit and apply for an extension prior to the expiry date of your visitor visa (wait until the last minute and submit the request online).

There is no minimum income requirement, but he will need to explain how he will support you once your PR is approved.

Now...here's the hard part' determining if you want to apply Inland or Outland.

Inland- Requires both of you to be in Canada. The processing time is longer than Outland, but you would be eligible for an OWP (Open Work Permit), which takes ~ 5 months to receive.

Outland- He needs to be in Canada. The processing time is shorter, but the OWP is not available.

Good luck!

Hai i would like to know that do visa office process application according to file received or they categorized applications according to country and process according to them.I am asking about this because i am from Nepal and my visaoffice is new delhi.Newdelhi visa office process applications of three countries i.e india, nepal and bhutan and some times afghanistan too.So do every country has special quota of application to be processed in same visa office or they just do process according to file received without giving priority on country basis.

Hi! I'm Canadian and my husband is American. Our application is Outland. My husband has a son from a previous relationship. We are in the process of attempting to get his son's medical exam. I was wondering when and if that document is obtained how long does it take CIC to make a decision on our application. It's now been 16 months already.
Thank you once again for your advice. We appreciate it.

Hi

What do you folks put for the File Number in IMM 3907e ?
Isn't that either the Sri Lanka or Pakistan requirement? May be someone from those specific thread could share their exact experience.

Thank you so much for your answer!!

It's just so hard, I've got a nice job and everything in my country but we really don't want to be apart.
Since the Outland is a shorter process, it is kind of a better option (but it's still too long I guess :( )
Inland sounds good too but I definitely would want to visit my family every 6 months or so, but I've heard that I might not be able to come back to Canada then.

It is indeed very hard to determine! :(

Hello there!

I have a question in regards to sponsoring a spouse. I am a Canadian citizen, where I have known my wife long distance back and forth for more than 3 years, and finally got married overseas. My wife has a visitor visa already to Canada so she can come visit me during the meantime. What is the best way about going to apply for a PR status? Shall we apply while she is INLAND Canada? However, her visitors visa requires for her to be in Canada visiting for 6 months only. If the application for permanent residence takes less than that, that's great, but will she be required to leave if the application takes longer?
