Hi guys!
On the checklist #24 that asked for travel documents...does this include that of the sponsor or just the sponsored person and their family accompany or non accompany?

I don't think travel docs for the sponsor are required, but I submitted my passport anyways. It's easy proof of citizenship (along with the birth certificate).

Thank you for your response!

I have asked a letter from my employer (I work from home) showing that I can continue my job from Canada, I also have proof that my husband can work from Canada (he is a composer). We both don't have conventional jobs. I also have a letter from my parents saying that they will support us and we can live with them. Do you think this is enough? I don't know what other kind of proof I can provide as it's way too early to sign a rental agreement and I'd rather do that after we've moved and searched for a place we like. I can write a letter myself about our plans and promising to carry them out. Do you think this would be good enough?

The work letters aren't proof, as they also show that you can easily do your jobs OUTSIDE of Canada. Get more letters from family and friends, start shifting your finances to Canada, get quotes for shipping belongings, contact realtors and potential employers in Canada etc. If you own a home where you are, start the sale process.

Wow thanks. I opened a Canadian bank account and I can shift some money and print the statement and I will ship over some things and show proof of that. I don't own a home here and don't plan on buying a home there. It's too expensive right now. We plan on staying with my parents and then looking for a place to rent. I can contact realtors and show that we're looking at different areas. I actually have YouTube videos of us looking at different neighbourhoods last summer. I wonder if they'd be interested or even look at that. I can just provide the links. Then, I hope that will be proof enough. What does everyone think?
Thanks so much!

Hey guys, I only payed the first fee for the outland sponsorship and I was thinking of paying the second fee when my husband is approved. Will that delay it a lot? or I should have payed the whole amount (both payments)

It shouldn't delay the application as long as you send proof of payment before asked. They likely won't begin working on the applicant's portion of the application for at least a month or two, depending on the VO. I wouldn't wait too long after SA to pay it and send the proof of payment, though.

Hello everyone,

Here is my story: I have been with my wife since August 2014 and married back in December 2015. I got my PR in August 2015. Now she is here in Canada as student. We have a joint banking account. Seniors please give me feedback to see if we have any chance for her to become PR soon.

Thank you very much in advance.

Gather your documents and sponsor her inland.

Depending on where the applicant is from, it is likely faster for them to apply outland. They can still apply outland while being in Canada. If the applicant plans on maintaining her study permit permit for another year or so (however long it would take to process their application at the individual visa office), they wouldn't need the OWP that can come with the inland application. It's likely that an outland application would take a year or less, while an inland application will still take at least 2 years.

Another question. Did all photocopies need to be certified. Even the tax assessments? Do even things like the passport, ID card, and tax assessments need to be translated? does the consulate certify that they are true copies? I'm now looking into hiring a notary in Italy to do the translations. I think it's going to be very expensive. I remember something like 400 euros for just a few things.

Hi,

Did you send the medical also with your inland spousal application?

No we did not send the medical? Should we have someone told us we might have had to do it again if we sent it too early? Should we submit it now?

If you applied inland there is no real delay in not doing the medical upfront like with outland, so you are fine.

I just sent off my application today (outland). I'm so paranoid that I make a stupid mistake or missed something and they're going to return it. Is there a point when I can stop worrying about it being returned? Would they return it before or after AOR?
