Okay so basically what I said as well. They will come and check on you, they did with a couple of people I personally know as well. Every time they told the officer that they are quarantining at home with spouse etc, there were no further questions.
It is possible your case is different since your husband HAD to go to work.
But I feel the miscommunication here is between what is MANDATORY vs what is RECOMMENDED. It is RECOMMENDED to use separate rooms, if that is possible, but it is NOT Mandatory.
"If contact cannot be avoided, take the following precautions:
- limit interactions with others in the household and wear a mask or face covering if a 2-metre distance cannot be maintained
- stay in a separate room and use a separate bathroom, if possible
- this includes if you are living with friends/family who did not travel with you"
