Hey esma,

My timeline is very similar to yours and I will include it in my bio, as soon as I figure out how lol.
My wife just did her remed and I ordered the notes last week, to find out what's going on.
There is a video on YouTube, with step by step instructions on how to order notes. Just search for it.

Also wanted to put out the question: How long does it take for ECAS to get updated? I got sponsorship eligibility approval yesterday but ECAS doesn't show that.

My wife is a canadian citizen and she's living with me in Pakistan. He's not doing any kind of job. Can I apply while she's here or she has to go back to canada and then I will be allowed to apply for spouse visa?

Salam. No need of any kind of job for Family spousal sponsorship. You can applied your case any time but application will submitted in Canada Mississaga cic office . After aprovel of your sponsorship , Now a days application move to directly to London uk and within 6 to 8 month cases are completed. Best of luck. Naveed

Just a small correction here naveedpcs, it's true that a person does not need a job for spousal sponsorship, but his wife will need to prove that her and her husband will move and live in Canada, once he gets his visa.
To prove that you usually need a job acceptance or a school acceptance letter.

Hello everyone,

I am a PR and moved to Canada in July 2015, i am back in Pakistan now. My Nikah is planned in January and I will go back to Canada at the end of January and apply for spousal sponsorship. This is an arranged one and Nikah ceremony will be attended by around 60 persons. I have a few questions and will really appreciate your inputs

1. I will be going back to Canada in January and search for a job, can i sponsor my spouse without a job? If i need a job, what is the minimum salary requirement?
2. What things should i be taking care of during this Nikah ceremony, as I have time I can plan things that can help to reduce the processing time.
3. What will be required to sponsor her? Nikah Nama, Pictures, wedding hall bills etc.
4. I dont have a history of this relationship as it is an arranged one so is it acceptable to have no previous chat, calls, email records etc
5. What is the processing time for Nikah cases? Should i be arranging the ruksati in 6,7 months?
6. Any other valuable input to reduce the sponsorship processing time?

Guys, it took only 2 months 7 days (from file date) for ECAS to show "in process" for the PR side. Also when I click on the link to view more details, it also says "we started processing X's application". How much longer could it take?

Another 2-3 months if you have submitted medical report, paid all the fees and wedding proofs.

Yes, I have included all of that and they've received the medical results as well.

What's the reason for the speed up? Does the current "in process" status still have the same meaning as before? I'm wondering why it has taken others several months to go from "application received" to "in process", whereas it only took me a week.

ECAS started showing "in process" and "we started working on X's application" for the principal applicant about 9-10 days ago.

From July 2015 they changed the process and anyone who submitted application after June 2015 they change the status to "In-Process" after SA. You can expect DM in next 30-60 days if your application is completed.

Older applications are in process different stream and that's why they don't see "In-Process" for few months and taking longer time to process.
