Did your DM letter state that the landing letter would come from the Vancouver office? As I received my DM letter on October 1st and it says I will be contacted by the Vancouver office, and I'm still waiting for my landing letter/date...

Yes it did. It said

"The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada office in Vancouver Immigration will contact you to arrange an appointment..."

I got OHIP after I got my OWP but you have to be employed and have a letter from your employer. Otherwise, yes you have to wait until AIP.

Inland PR with OWP application :
Application received - May 28th
AOR - July 10th
OWP approved - Sept 7th
Medical request - Oct 11th

The eligibility passed of your wife is the AIP. She can register for OHIP with that letter.

That's very interesting.. I hope they don't do this for me, as the Vancouver office is only a 5 minute walk from my house. I wonder if it is decided by how close you are to the office, as well as how many appointments they are backed up with.

Do you live closer to the Surrey office than the Vancouver office?

Hey guys,

I received a letter for the landing interview earlier today (woohoo!). It’s surprising though to receive the letter from the Niagara office since I was expecting it to come from the Etobicoke office, being that we’re located in GTA. It seems that CIC is trying to speed things up so no complaints here!

Here is our timeline:

App received: Nov 6, 2017
AOR: Dec 29, 2017
Schedule A & PCC: Dec 29, 2017
Medical request: May 10, 2018
Medical Passed: Jun 1, 2018
SA & AIP: Oct 3, 2018
DM: Oct 4, 2018
Landing letter: Oct 11, 2018
Landing interview: Oct 15, 2018

Good luck to everyone!

Hi,

It’s called an Open Work Permit (OWP)

Follow the link below for more information.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1163&top=17

You can find the OWP application pack below:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...onditions-extend-your-stay-canada-worker.html

Fill out the OWP form & checklist and make sure you pay the correct fee ($255). It’s probably best you submit it along with your inland spouse PR application. Your spouse should receive her work permit within 4months of applying for it.

Good luck.
