Hi all,

Quick question, I just called the CIC, the self serving option, it says something like "Review of you eligibility started". Does anyone know or have an idea how long it takes find out if I am eligible or not?

Thanks.
that's the stage when they actually look at the entire package you sent them. some people get it done within days and for some it takes months with requests for additional proofs. it all depends on how complicated the file is.

Are there any other Dec 11th applicants still waiting for their OWP to be approved?
I am still waiting too, Dec 12. I checked my application status today through CIC phone self service and it was said that they are processing applications received Nov 17. However, I saw people receiving OWP who applied in Dec and Jan. I think we are somehow unlucky and they are processing some applications with a delay. I believe ours should come within a week or two.

Hey guys hope you are all doing well!
I just received my medical request yesterday and immediately booked an appointment for tomorrow morning.
I just wanna make sure of what I should do now.
The doctor says I don't need anything but my passport and the cash for the payment. They say I don't need to print the form sent by CIC nor any pictures as they have my UCI and they will take pictures on the spot.
I just wanna make sure all I have to do is to go and complete the examination and then just wait to hear from CIC as they will send everything to the CIC.

Anybody can confirm that?

Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone!

Wife had her medical done today with x ray and bloodwork straight after, about 3 weeks after the request which is the earliest appt we could get. But was told the 30 day deadline is the date by which the medical has to have taken place (rather than when all the final results have to be in) so for others that were also worried that they couldnt get medicals until 3+ weeks after the request and were worried it would be longer than 30 days before the medical results were submitted.....fear not.

Just wanted to let everyone know our timeline. My husband is a Canadian citizen sponsoring me, a US citizen. We live in BC.

We sent in our application for inland spousal sponsorship using a representative, so all our updates came through him and not by looking at our online profile, so the exact dates may be off by a day or two.

Applications for spousal sponsorship and OWP mailed off June 14, 2017
AOR on July 14, 2017
PCC requested July 25, 2017, submitted within about a week and a half (we were able to use a FBI third-party channeler)
OWP received August 9, 2017 (however, since we didn't do an upfront medical exam and I work in healthcare, it didn't help us much)
August 25, 2017 we went and did our own medical exam
Sometime in November 2017 they started processing our background check
Additional documents were uploaded by our representative in February 2018, so possibly our medical exam documentation
Decision made on March 22, 2018, and I also received my letter for my landing interview
My husband received his letter approving him as a sponsor April 3, 2018
Landing interview was April 10, 2018, where I received COPR and a passport stamp
Now I wait for the PR card

They take a picture on the spot before the medical, they submit everything using the emedical system. We had the form printed off as the clinic requested we bring that along with passport, but I guess they can access all your details on the system with just your ID.

The automated service has been saying Nov 17th for weeks now, I don't think they've updated it.

I guess it is kind of unlucky.:(
I'm preparing for the worst case scenario that it's either lost or been misplaced somewhere.

Thank you.

I have an application number and have linked my OWP to My CIC account. My status is still valid until May 7th 2018.

I don't understand how they are on January OWPs when there are people from early December still waiting. So I have come to the conclusion that they have misplaced my application. Why else would it be taking so long? It's so frustrating.

Thanks,

Z

What's your timeline please?

I think you have to send a case specific enquiry. It's explained on the aor letter (links and stuff).

Sent application september 6th
AOR november 1st
OWP start of Feb

Does the medical have to be done and submitted by the month deadline?
Or do you just have to do the medical by the deadline?

My deadline is May 9th and I can get a medical for the 30th but I worry it wouldnt be submitted by the 9th

I have a question. Did you apply for another work permit to remove the restrictions? I'm still contemplating whether I would or wait for my PR bec I also work in the healthcare field but currently on maternity leave.
