I called them this morning and they told me sometimes it can take up to 3 weeks for them to receive the medicals and update the message on the MyCIC account.

I guess I have to wait one more week ..
But many people passing the medicals within a week.

...I don't know how these guys are working...

Just checked the account, and she passed the medical. My wife called the clinic earlier, and they said that the report was submitted on the 29th, even though the medical exam was done on the 19th. I think it takes a week from the time when the doctor submits the results to show the status change.

Hey guys,

Will my OWP take longer if I am only on a tourist visa? OWP and PR were received Dec27. I’m supposed to start working in a few weeks and starting to get a little worried.

Are the OWP that have been getting approved for people still with status or were some of you back on visitor visas?

No. It’s the same waiting time. How do you apply for a job? Do you put to your cover letter that you’re expecting a work permit soon? Thanks!

Thanks for the info^^^^^^

I have been living and working here seasonally on the IEC for the past three years. I have worked for the same company the past 3 Spring/Summers and they would like me back again.

Depending what work you’re looking for I’m sure you could explain to them your situation.

Some companies are ok with that! I applied and told them the situation and the expected timeline for my OWP and they gave me an offer to start after I got the permit

I was on a visitor visa and on implied status, my work permit was approved 2 days after the 6 months mark since I came to Canada!
Yours should be coming soon, don't worry! :)

Oh that's good news. Nice. I guess I ll call the clinic tomorrow and ask them when they submit my medical. I didn't think asking them.

Thank you.

My OWP has been approved today! App was received on Jan 10th, linked online on Feb 9th, and was approved today on April 5th! My original work permit has expired in March and I had to re-apply for my new OWP while waiting for my PR to be approved, still. I am late May applicant and passed the medical exam in mid February. I am hoping to receive the SA or AIP soon!

I was counting on 3-4 months not
6 :(

Oh no! hope not that too long. I've read others here in the forum got theirs after 2 months. I am still hopeful that it will arrive this April. Hoping for the best case. :)
Those that got in 2 months just happened to get lucky or had a quick case worker. According to the inland spreadsheet, most got their OWP between 3 to 4 months.
