Hi,
It took 5 months for my background to show “processing” after I uploaded my Schedule A. I uploaded my Schedule A in April 2017, and my background wasn’t processing until September 2017. Hope that helps & good luck with your application!
Thanks a lot for your reply.. it's very assuring. However, does that mean the application is delayed?
I hope not..
all the best

my wife uploaded police check and schedule A last december and it always stayed “your action is required”. it was only a few days ago it finally changed to “submitted”. background check since december it says not applicable. it was only a few weeks ago when it changed to “we are processing your background check”.
if you only submitted your police checks last january then maybe yours will start soon.
Thanks a lot for your reply. My husband sent his police check with the aplication.
I hope to see a change soon, and I hope this doesn't mean that the application is delayed.
It seems you guys are a few weeks ahead of us.. I would appreciate it if you update us with CIC moves
Thanks and Good luck

I think it's normal, mine was received in June and background processing started some time in November/December (I did not receive any notification from them)

Hey! Can you tell us a little bit more about this "fairness letter"? I've never heard of. Before ever "negative decision" people always get this letter? Do you know any examples of people being denied? tks!
basically, it's an email stating that the officer has reviewed the docs and is not satisfied with whatever it is people screw up with the application: accidental misrepresentation, insufficient cohabitation proof and so on. then it states that the applicant has 30 days to address the concern(s). otherwise the app will 100% be rejected. if you haven't received anything of this sort then the decision is positive. ircc won't deny an application without giving an opportunity to address officer's concerns.

i've seen some examples on the forum (if you're curious, look for "fairness letter" through the forum search and you'll see a couple of threads where people share their experience with that). depending on what the concern is, the denial is possible. i've seen people who have forgotten to declare previous visa denials from other countries and that was considered misrepresentation. however as soon as they wrote a letter to the officer explaining that they were not hiding anything and it was a simple mistake, in a matter of a couple of days they'd get a positive decision.

anyway, you've got nothing to worry about as you haven't received anything like what i just described. just wanted to elaborate on the whole "fairness letter" thing.

for spousal sponsorship (specially inland) they do not just DENY your application. If there are any doubts or concerns, they will give you a chance to address their concerns, which is why a procedural fairness letter will be sent to the applicant.

if you did not receive any such letter and ecas indicates a decision has been made, it is positive. :)

moreover, your previous post says you have already received AIP, so all you are waiting for is a date to go get your CoPR.

Dec 11th - nothing yet. Only AOR and PCC and Schedule A. Still waiting for OWP

any update December applicant?

My wife and I are December applicant. Got AOR, and submitted Sch A & PCC. She got her OWP returned and we've resubmitted. Your OWP should be coming up soon likely end of March or into April. We're hoping my wife's OWP would come in end of April or into May since it was resubmitted.

Good to know as I did wonder about denial for sponsorship. Thank you.

Hello, I am a May 2017 applicant, I passed medical exam at the end of Nov 2017, and since then, I haven't heard anything. What is going to be next?

Hey, I'm a May applicant too, in the same boat, passed Meds in beginning of Dec. I see that some April applicants are landing nowadays, that makes me think we'll be soon, in the next month or month and a half it should be our turn! We'll get SA and/or AIP and/or DM or all, lol. Just keep checking ECAS on both sides (PA + sponsor) and your MyCIC account. (My timeline is in my signature below)

Has anyone from December received an Email approving their OWP yet?

Thank you for your reply. I was actually following your timeline that's why I expected the background check to change on Feb 6th. It seems my agent is either too occupied, or on vacation
Please keep us posted with CIC updates.
Thanks and good luck
