Does anyone have any experience with getting their OWP at a port of entry once they’ve recieved their AOR. Have heard that if you get aOR and have an OWP app in you can try and apply at the border rather than waiting for the CIC office to process it. I did speak to the call centre the other day and they were very vague about that process said he can try. Just wanting some advice if it’s possible

I don't know if it's going to be helpful, but once I left the country while they were processing my work permit. While I was away, they issued it. So when coming back to Canada, I was sent to the immigration officer. He asked me if I want him to issue one for me right at the spot. I said I had one waiting for me in my mail. He said - ok and he let me go through. So I would assume, that it is possible for them to do that, but human factor plays a huge role.

Is there someone here who get a request to send a Schedule A but there’s no request for police check yet. I received an email asking me to send a schedule A only. Normally i can see people says they had a request on both at the same time. Is there anyone on the same boat?

Did you already included your police check from home country with your initial application?

Not yet. Just a police check in Canada RCMP

Normally if you send PCCs upfront, the request is only for the Sched A and not PCCs. Although on your online account check to see if it still allows you to upload PCCs as well, in which case you can add aditional ones. If not, send additional ones by mail or webform.
I think if you send any PCCs at all (even if not all the ones you need to send) they remove the PCC request and only send the Sched A. That's why you should either send all PCCs or not any at all upfront as they say they will ask for them later.

Same here.

I am having problem to link the application to my account. I try every evening atleast 5 times unless I am locked out (for last 7days|) I have reported technical fault three times with screenshots but no response. In their email, they strongly suggest to link the application in 7 calendar days or the entire process will be delayed.
"""
Please take the time to link your application so that we can quickly and efficiently ask for the documents, and
you can quickly and efficiently submit them digitally. If you have not linked your application to an online account
within 7 calendar days, we will send you an email to which you will be asked to respond via regular mail. This
will introduce delays into the processing of your application.
"""
Any suggestions?
Does that mean if you didn't link your application within 7 calendar says, you lost the chance to link the application online?

I linked mine when CIC sent the AOR email. They had given instructions to get it done within a certain time period (7 days I think).
Are you using a lawyer by any chance?
I'm using a consultant, paid $5000.... I guess he didn't link my allication....

Just got off the phone with the call centre and got some information. Bristish citizens are only required to have a valid ETA. We were concerned if my spouse was in England when we recieved his AOR they wouldn’t send his OWP application in. But the call centre said that as we applied within Canada they agent will see that and all the sponsored spouse needs when they come back in is all their documents. Even is AOR is recieved while my spouse is out of the country they will still process his application and submit his OWP for processing as if he was in the country. They can also if they have recieved AOR before re entry they may try and apply for OWP at the port of entry. Hope this helps some people. We are hoping he will be back before we get AOR but call centre did say they were working on september 5th despite some from September 9th getting AOR already. We are Oct 16th applicatants.
Hi
I am British citizen and my wife Canadian, I am going to apply for inland applicants of PR and work permit together.
I have few questions: how long the processing time would be ?
Will I be able to Treva while Application in process ?
Will I be able get health card after submission of application ?
And how long work permits takes ?
Many Thanks

So do you need to link the sponsors UCI to account as well? or just the one recieved by PA with the application number and UCI
The PA's.

He probably did link your application, but only he will have access to it. If you read CIC's terms when linking only one person can link the account online, whether sponsor, principal applicant or a representative. So more than likely he has already linked your account. You should really check with him to find out more about your application in this case.

We are currently still waiting for AOR we applied inland October 16th currently the timeline for AOR is approx 2 months. Once you get that the OWP application is supposed to be submitted by CIC and that current wait time is 11 weeks. So from what I can gather the time line is roughly 5 months from delivery of app to CIC to work permit issuance. And total time for PR is 12 months from date of AOR.
My spouse is British and he is heading back to England today. We were told that as long as we have a valid ETA he can travel and they will process his application as submitted. So he can be out of the country for part of the process. You can only have a health card if you are working and your current permit is still valid. Most provincial medical programs do not acknowledge implied status. So if this is the case short term travel insurance is always a good idea.
Hope this helps
