Hey guys, I will be trying to apply in August through the inland sponsorship. I graduated from university about a year ago and right now I have an open work permit as well as temporary residence visa. Would it speed up the process for me since I don't have to apply for an OWP?
No it will not speed up the process. I have open work permit since 2011 and i am still going at the same pace with everyone else.

AOR is the first email you will receive when CIC receive your application. That is exactly one month you submitted you documents. If everything is ok with the application you submitted, I assume you will hear back from them this week or next week.
Hope for the best

wait, I mean so I will received an email before getting it in the mail? correct me if I'm wrong

If ECAS says they send you correspondence and you did not receive anything, you should definitely contact CIC. They had (still have?) technical problems and the correspondence they sent were not received by the people. It happened to me and after I called they issued the correspondance again ( it was a request for CSQ and Schedule A form). My guess is they a requesting a new Schedule A. They clearly specify in the guide that you should not send it upfront. Also if they would have decided to use the one you provided, your background check would probably be in progress. Mine is in progress since July 4th and I'm an April applicant...

I will contact them again tomorrow. Thanks...

Yes the same thing happened to me. This correspondance is for PCC ans Schedule A. Use IRCC webform to upload them. I know you didnt recieve the email but do as soon as possible. You are bot suppose to send them upfront. So upload them online as soon as possible

Do you mean uploading them on my GC Key account on the CIC website?

I am north of Toronto but made appointment in Toronto. They wanted me to come the very next day after i called. Wasnt ready yet so i am doing it in 1 week. There is no issue once ur within 30 day time frame. Also this office does e medical so will be sending the results online to IRCC.
i understand.

yes, most of the docs these days have e-meds. ours have already been submitted.

i know we have a window of 30 days for submission, but we got really messed up during PCC and had to do fingerprints twice as the first results arrived in mail past 30 days :(

so we planned not to take any more chances and get it done asap.

Hi everyone, I have a question, can my wife on a visitor status apply for an ontario photo id?, Since the form say she can have a government issued id with the same address? Secondly, can i send more documents and pictures after the application is sent to them or do i have to collect everything before hand and submit at the same time?

Hi everybody!
My name is Alessandra and I'm going to share my story and timeline.

I'm Italian and my husband has double citizenship (Italian and Canadian). We got married in Italy in December 2014, he returned to Canada one week after to set everything up for my arrival, and I joined him in April on a visitor Visa (actually italy is a Visa exempt country, so I didn't really apply for anything).
In the meantime I got into college and applied for a student visa, which will expire in November 2017.

Now, my program officially ended in May but, for disability related issues, I still have one class to complete. I won't be attending class, I just need to hand my assignments in.

Hubby and I decided it was time to apply for PR, so we submit our application along with OWP and it was received by the office in Mississauga on July 4th.

Haven't heard anything back since.

If anybody sees something strange with my timeline, please let me know!

Good luck to everyone, I hope we can share our frustration and hopes and find a little comfort!

Hi @sk21,

Sorry for the delayed reply, I'm not on here as frequently nowadays.

Use current date as potential working start date for both OWP and PGWP. It's what they expect from students and spouses. When they issue the OWP or PGWP, it'll have the date of issue not the date you submitted. There's no need to explain why you put current date. He's still legit working right now on his student visa, so that's not a problem so long as he didn't do more than 20 hrs/wk on average.

I refer you yet again on how to fill in the PGWP: https://students.ubc.ca/career/care...graduation-work-permit#understanding-the-form. Make sure you keep screen shots of your submission like it advises on the website!! Quite frankly, that is the best website I've seen on how to do the paperwork. Make sure you also upload the supporting documents advised. Note that you don't necessarily want to tie him to a particular employer, so keep with Not Applicable / jobseeker / duties as assigned (some employers may take advantage if they see a work permit only allowing him to work with their firm).

On OWP you can leave employer as Not Applicable.

Good luck with both PGWP & spousal - and remember - you HAVE to submit PGWP before the student visa expires!!
Thank you so much Nina!! We used your advice and the link and applied for PGWP on Monday July 24.

For Spousal and OWP we are still waiting on birth certificate from my husband's country of origin. They put his birthplace wrong in tge first copy so are waiting for it to correct and send to us. This means we will be applying after his study permit expires on July 31. Does anyone see any issues with this? We have applied PGWP this week but in the chance his PGWP is refused, would it be an issue if we apply spouse PR and OWP a few days after his expiry? We are debating whether to:
1. Send the application with his passport, ID card (translated and attested by Embassy here), and his Family Record Form (his country issues one with a list of immediate family members)
2. Wait until we get the birth certificate copy and apply then.
Any input and opinion in this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much. I was just worried by some posters saying their application got sent back for this reason ie @Vandave, mohamednbil179 and ayien05 see quotes below. I think I will just send it tomorrow without and pray for the best

"My application finally got returned to me.
In their letter showing that I am missing photo and birth certificates of all family members

but, obviously, photo are lost due to their fault
regarding birth certificates, anyone got your application returned due to 1 or couple documents?

I do not understand why do they accept the application and ask me to send what I am missing.

anyway, no meaning to complain about them, prepare to re-submit"

"SAME HERE!! mine got returned because they said i needed the BC ofmy relatives and my husbands too"

Mine was returned in my first submission without my wife's birth certificate. Have your new application got AOR?
