Hello,

I have received the Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) on Feb 3, 2017.

Does anybody know how long it takes to get the Sponsor Approval (SA) letter?

Has anyone been able to link their application to MyCIC? I've tried a bunch of times but haven't figured out the right combo of information to search yet, but we haven't received AOR yet so we don't have the application number. Do you need AOR first in order to be able to link the app?

Hello all
I have a question if anyone who can help I am currently on a student visa and applied for PR in January 2017 I have already received AOR1 and AOR 2 both came at the same time, but my Sponsor has not had a decision made as yet. My side is saying open but application not in process anyway I did'nt apply for an open work permit at the same time because I have taken a break from school to look after my toddler. Is it possible to change my study permit to open work permit although I have not completed my schooling?

Yes, We were able to link application to MyCIC. Right combo is:
Link an app>Select Temp Residence> then Work permit or Extn > Use UCI number & Name> the only thing you won't know is the app number which is different from PR app number.

I believe first you need to wait for the Acknowlegdement receipt.. Acknowlegdement receipt arrives in about a month after filing the application.

Hi,

Both will be notified. But that is the principal applicant who is asked to link the application to his/her Mycic profile.

You will get a message asking for filling up some forms or provide some documents as soon as you linked the application.

Since I live in Quebec, I was asked to provide them with a CSQ till April 2nd. And to get that I need the SA letter. Strange!

I received my AOR email a few weeks ago, and uploaded my Schedule A immediately. Whats the next step? Just waiting?

You need to wait now like all of us and pray for a smooth process. It should take 12 months or by end of dec 2017 for 80% of applications to be processed...

Hello everyone!!

I am a Canadian citizen and my Hubby is American. We are just finishing up filling out the forms etc and are hoping to send the application in within the next few months.

Short background: Hubby has been here for almost 8 years (out of status...I know, I know), we have been married for 6. We are including a restoration of status form (TRP) and OWP app with our application as this is how it was done by someone else prior as per instruction from Immigration. We are not under a removal order and I will not bore you with the details of the variety of reasons why we have not applied up until now (Let's just say Murphy's law has fun with my life).

We have sent off for Hubby's FBI clearance already. He has an old DUI that should be on there so we want to see.

Looking forward to watching everyone's journey and will post updates as they happen to us! Happy 2017 everyone!
