I hope so! I can't wait. Sleeping was not easy these days.. My lawyer told me it would take 20-24 months. :(

I'm an applicant - received on 15 August 2017 - inland
me too I can't wait! I know we get all excited seeing people getting news and us not yet but we also have to think we're still under 12 months so we don't need to worry that much right now!

Yeah! I was happy that I registered myself to this Forum, it's good to talk to people who are in the same boat!

Hi guys, is there anyone else who got requested RCMP fingerprints criminal record check? I got my fingerprints taken almost a month ago but no changes in myCIC account... Since the RCMP is sending the results to immigration directly, I can't upload anything myself.

Not sure what to do now as the upload deadline is in 4 days. I wrote a letter explaining the situation and attached the original receipt from the local police department who took my prints but I can't upload it in the slot of MyCIC. The slot only allows to enter the number of the criminal record check results and expiry date etc. But like I said, I do not have this document myself, they should have received it directly from RCMP.

Also, is fingerprinting new? Because I have a very rare and uncommon last name and highly doubt that it is blacklisted like someone said before. Is fingerprinting just a pilot or something?
Are you out of status by any chance? My husband also has a unique name and he was asked to do RCMP fingerprints as well but it’s because he was out of status.

We are in the same boat we did our fingerprints on the 22nd of May and still no updates but we sent in proof via web form so they said we have done all we can from our end and they will contact us.

I would still not leave it in their hands and keep calling them once a week to see if they received it and if they don’t receive it within a couple of weeks after the deadline just re do the fingerprints and have them sent to your house so you can just upload them.. no point in taking risks so close to the end of the process only to save 50-60$

it's ok they just started working on august applicants,we're plenty still waiting! :)

I am really hoping so. My husband is out of status tho and he has to exit and go back to US as he is green card holder and not allowed to stay out of US for a year. So I dont know what to think anymore

I am not out of status so that's not it either. Maybe they just started doing fingerprints at random applications... Anyway, I did upload a letter with proof that I got my prints taken just like you but can't fill the slot on MyCIC.

For some reason the province I got mine taken you pay for two sets of prints so I guess I'll do them again like you said if I don't hear from them soon.
I'm just annoyed that it might delay my application. Could it also be because of travel history? I have traveled quite a bit and visited countries like Egypt, Turkey, Thailand and more. Thanks for your response!

Thanks for the info,

" CIC might request fingerprints later if you share a name with someone who is blacklisted, but if you're lucky you won't have to go through the RCMP/fingerprint process"

Maybe that is the reason why my application is delay. I am MArch 2107 applicant and CIC requested my Police Record based on fingerprints last March.. after I send it no update.

Thanks

Just got an email about my landing interview! Next Wednesday in Etobicoke.
It's finally over! I will probably come back to post about my interview experience (but I don't expect to be asked too many questions considering my application was simple and straight-forward)

Some thoughts:
- The most tedious part was definitely preparing the initial application. Triple-checking every form to make sure I didn't forget to add or sign something, labeling each picture/going through our relationship history with my sponsor to prove it was genuine (considering we're not married + I've lived here my entire life and grown up here, I didn't want CIC to think it was a common-law partnership of convenience to finally become officially Canadian/PR).
- The worst part of waiting was after I passed the medical exam, because nothing was updated on myCIC or Ecas. Last week I just got a message saying that I passed eligibility (I didn't even know they were reviewing it - as of now, myCIC still shows that they're reviewing my eligibility...) Not hearing anything for weeks/months after passing the medical exam seems to be a common experience...
- About the Police Check: if you only have to submit a Canadian police check, it DOES NOT have to include fingerprints unless CIC specifically requests it (you'll see whether you need it or not on myCIC). Just go to your local police station and ask for a criminal background certificate. They'll ask you why (when you fill in a form) and you just have to check immigration. You will get a copy right away. CIC might request fingerprints later if you share a name with someone who is blacklisted, but if you're lucky you won't have to go through the RCMP/fingerprint process

They requested last March and RCMP sent it directly to the immigration officer as requested. My CIC shows Overdue . I called CIC and they received the RCMP document. Call CIC and check if they receive it.
My name is not a common name at all.., so no idea

I hope CIC sends me any update soon.. I am March 2017 Applicant
Did they request your fingerprints after you submitted your Canadian police certificate? When I went to get my Canadian PCC at local police station, the officer asked me if I needed fingerprints, cos they didnt mention fingerprints so I only got a certificate. I lived in Canada for 2 years when I applied, I am worried they might request fingerprints later which can cause delay.

Which state did you apply in, if you don't mind me asking? My application received on 15 August, and I'm anxious that I have not seen any news..
