I've been living in Canada for 2 years and 3 months now. My IEC visa/work permit expired in March. They just requested the police checks now when I received AOR. I have the Irish one but the problem is with getting a Canadian one as I don't have status right now. I'll upload the Irish police very with Schedule A and hope for the best I guess
most likely you won't need canadian pcc. once they process your background check, cic does their own canadian security check on you. submit all police checks in your home country and any other country where you stayed 6 months or more.

Hi! I am new on the forum and I was gathering all my documents for under canada family class spousal sponsorship Inland

I got divorced in 2015 and got my divorce certificate and my legal name was restored after the divorce. I remarried a few months ago. As I was gathering all my legal documents, all of them still have my ex-husband's surname, including my passport. My new marriage certificate has my ex's surname to match my passport. I heard some friends say that I should put my maiden name in my new marriage certificate because I'm already divorced. I'm confused a lot about this. Should I amend my marriage certificate to show my maiden name even though my passport has my ex's surname? or do i keep the marriage certificate as is--with my ex's surname as that is whats on my passport?

I'm asking this because i'm submitting all my documents for application for canada family class spousal sponsorship program.

Thank you for your help!
hi, i don't know much about your situation but legally, you are able to change back your name if you got divorced. i don't think at this point you will be able to change all your legal documents to change your surname and expect a fast outcome. what is important is if you submit your application, be sure to have your divorce certificate attached. it might also help if you attach an explanation letter to briefly describe your situation. if you choose to amend your marriage cert, i think you should and can but that's another wait time. you could also choose to change your surname in all your legal documents but you would't be able to submit your application until you complete that.

i suggest you talk to a lawyer about that though, i could be very wrong.

Just relax have you done any recent medical in the past . That happened to me too and i called cic and it was confirmed that my old medical for study permit was what was used.
So relax and wait for dm
Thank you. Indeed, I have done medical check up for study permit like 2 years ago, and another medical check up 3 for extending my tourist visa 3 years ago. However, when I called the cic, they said my status is wrong due the technical glitch. But, it has been like that for a month...

Yes you should upload the Irish police check and also include a note when you upload it stating the reason why you can't get the Canada police check.
By the way, have you tried renewing your work permit ?

Hi guys, I just went to get my Canadian Police check done as it was requested along with my Schedule A. They informed me that since my 2 year IEC work permit has now expired, I can't apply for a police check as I have no proof of residency/status here. Should I just submit my Irish police check with the schedule A even though it says on their request that I also need one from my current country of residence?
As far as I know, you do not need to provide a Canadian PCC as part of your PCCs. If they want a Canadian one, they'll ask for it, so you're good to go with just the Irish one. I know it says you need one from your current country of residence, but that just means you need to look up your current country of residence and see if it's required as per IRCC's website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/canada.asp

As you have a valid OWP, if you apply to renew it before it expires (I would recommend to do it few weeks before it expires), you will then go on implied status until CIC makes a decision on the renewal of your OWP. That status would allow you to continue working. If you let your OWP permit expire, you then have to stop working until you get PR or a new work permit.

Regarding the correction, I don't know if you would face any issues if you stay in Canada. But if you go outside Canada and the passport number on the OWP does not match the passport number you currently have... there might be an issue to let you in. To ask for the correction does not implicate any fees for you, so I would recommend asking for the correction just to stay on the safe side.
Hi sylvain1,

CIC has refused to correct my work permit.

They stated in their email

"The documents completed for your admission to Canada as a temporary resident were issued based on the information you provided at the time of your application you provided. The information on your temporary resident document must match that on your passport, or on the documents that you provided as part of your application. The decision made on your application was based on all the information provided. As a result, it is our practice to only correct any minor biodata typographical/ editorial error(s) in information that were recorded by an Immigration Officer when processing an application or printing an immigration document. However major changes related for e.g. to changes in passport number, in your country of citizenship or birth, passport number, given/middle names and surnames after decision making on your initial application, in your employment situation including switching cities or changing positions [promotions or demotions], employer’s name, most of the conditions and/or remarks, permit validity and/or exit "

So I will wait until a month before it expires to apply for renewal or extension. I hope something good happens in the meantime.

Thanks for all the help in this forum...I wouldn't be able to submit my application and stay sane while waiting if it wasn't for you guys!!!

:)

You'd think a big pile of "missing" applications would be easy to find.. I called them on June 27th and trying to be patient but it really is wearing thin now. I wanted to send my application again just to see how quickly it would be acknowledged this time but my partner convinced me not too. I don't understand why a lot of this can't be submitted online now, there would be no excuses for lost applications and easier to hopefully track and process in some relative order.

It was a CIC agent I spoke they emailed the office for me. I tried sending an email to them directly but it's not really much good, auto reply said it could take up to 20 working days for a response but their email is CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca.
I'm also thinking about just sending it out again. But I don't know if they would complicate the matter later.
I'll give it one more week before doing that...

Hello everyone!!
I sent out the package along with OWP 2 days ago. They should be receiving this today.

My husband and I met in the US while I was on student visa in 2011. We got married in 2014. We have a child together who was born on March 2017. Originally, we applied for green card for me which was down in the toilet now.

Now, regarding to NOA/C print.. CRA haven't processed it yet. I wrote a letter explaining why I haven't submitted since I am currently waiting on it. Will it impact on the processing time?

Is there a spreadsheet or something like that to keep track of the processing of the application?

background check can take 6 months or maybe longer. it's the longest process. some of dec 2016 applicants were lucky enough to have DMs but for most of us, it can still take up to 12 months. gcms are probably a good way to know if an officer has determined there are red flags in your app.

why don't you submit an application for a new owp so you don't have to renew? i was gonna take the amendment route because of a restriction i wanted to be removed but i figured it's better to apply for a new one. i received my first owp and had it for 3 weeks and then i applied for a new one on may 27. i'm waiting for the new owp without the restriction. been waiting for more than a month now.

some apps were returned because the option c noa for 2016 was missing. you can print out the option c noa on the cra website though if your husband has his cra online account. i hope it won't negatively impact your app. it's good that you provided with an explanation though, they might consider. 2017 inland applications spreadsheet
