Good Morning ,
How do i check for SA status?
My application was received on Sep 27th,2016.
I have an immigration lawyer as representative.
When i open my ECAS it just shows "Application Received"
There is any way i can check the status of SA?
Thank you

Aww shucks. You're welcome. I know it was a big deal. I hope you can reschedule your flight! At this point, if you don't get a landing invite before Sept 15, call your MP and explain the problem I bet they'll try to slide you in so you can get that card in time.

Funny thing is, we already had a meeting booked for the 18th with her lol. It's all coming in perfectly as we've constantly been told by the seasoned vets of this forum. "Once it starts, you're done in no time"

Means that your representative gets the email first so you'd have to contact them or the spouse can call the centre and get the info themselves, the applicant can't get that information unless they've already sent in a consent form stating they're allowed to receive info on the other.

Check ecas using the sponsor information. Doing that you will see information regarding the sponsor and the principal applicant. When you see decision made on the sponsor side, that will mean the sponsor was approved.

Landing this coming Wednesday! :) Whoohoo! Really excited about that!

Quick question @profiler @sylvain1
How soon after signing the documents can I apply for my new Social Insurance Number? Also I will have to notify BCHealth, right?

As soon as you can reach a service Canada office with your CoPR in hands, which you'll get at your landing. With that in hands, you can get your new SIN. I'm not too familiar with B.C. health system, but you can definitely register with your CoPR.

Are you already enrolled in MSP? If you are, use this form to change your status, put a sticky note on it saying you are already enrolled and you just want to update your status. If you're under your spouse's MSP account, he/she needs to fill it out and you both sign it. Don't forget to send a copy of your CoPR with the form.

And you can go get your permanent SIN as soon as you're done with the interview and you have your CoPR.

Happy landing!

Good afternoon all,

I'm looking for info and hoping that you ladies and gentlemen would help me please and thank you.

My fiancé and I are planning to get married next year. I'm Canadian and he is Jamaican. He is currently working in Canada as a migrant worker. He has been in the farm working program for more than 10 years. I'm wondering which application would be best for us, inland or Outland. I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of each. Your input, opinions and experiences are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Thank you.

If he applies inland, he has access to apply for an open work permit. He can remain in Canada and can work (and potentially have access to health care) while they process the file.

Outland is the same amount of processing time, and there is no permits automatically afforded to applicants. So it's up to him to keep his status.
