From what you wrote, my guess is that they messed up the transfer to your local office. Your local office is probably still within its timeframe (in reference to the DM letter), but that would be Mississauga that did not transfer it right away. I think you have good arguments to ask your MP to help you getting a landing appointment. In any cases, it's coming, I'm sure of that. Stay positive!

Was thinking about your comment overnight...if that is the case and they are still within a time frame (per DM email on July 26th) perhaps I should wait to see the MP? If I go by that email date, it will be 6 weeks this week, giving them 2 weeks to still make good.

No, I would go to the MP's office. Definitely.

I wouldn't wait.. was your appointment booked already? As I don't think they'll always see you right away anyway so might as well go if it was booked or book it now

thank you, wasnt aware I should book an appointment, thought I could just stop in.

Stop in, or call. It will be their staff (not the MP directly) that will usually be doing the calling for you.

I agree with @profiler , I would go to the MP now. From your perspective, they are well out of the timeframe. Even if I'm right and Mississauga is the one that messed up, you are waiting for long enough now. This is, I'm quite sure, something easy to solve for the MP. And I'm even sure it's something they like to do as it's not much work for them, and it could bring future benefits (votes...).

@dskeard
it can also be that they are trying to arrange an itinerant. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/help.asp and http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contact_us/offices/itinerant.asp if they felt the office was too far to travel to.

As you have AIP already, you could literally get DM any day now. You're closer to the end than you think.

I go for my landing interview tomorrow and was in your shoes in July @rizaki! Everything happened really fast...AIP early August, appointment scheduled about a week later. Hang in there...its coming!

Good morning, folks.

Are 2016s still being worked on? ;) Well, it will be over soon enough!

I had already explained why emails from CIC come out of order: some report getting SA after AIP; AIP after DM; or not getting them at all. I did share a story about that. Here is the follow-up from another agency's perspective: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/rcmp-shared-services-canada-bell-email-1.4262358
Good morning folks; @profilerYou think delays from rcmp is the possible reason in security checks delay?

hmmm, took a look at what you linked.
There is only 1 IRCC office on the Island, thats in St Johns and as I said before its, approx 660km.. I dont care how far we have to drive, lol. Cant really see them sending me off the Island to incur even more $$ (ie, airfare) along with the hotel, food and gas already spending to get to St Johns.
As far as the itinerant services go, there is nothing listed for Newfoundland at this time.

I saw someone else reporting also getting these questions prior to the interview (I can't remember who it was, but that was for a landing in Montreal).
