Might sound silly, but is it possible to get OHIP with the DM letter? I never received any AIP letter and am currently waiting for the landing invitation which may take up to 8 weeks.
Can use copr for ohip

Can use copr for ohip

But they may have to wait weeks to land. They want to get the OHIP process started. I don't think you can use a DM (they did have AIP available that they could photocopy for us to show us which CIC letter they claimed was acceptable). You can certainly try? I just don't think it would be successful...

Just got my AIP in email. Nothing changed in mycic or ecas yet. What happens next?

Decision Made in ECAS, then a DM email and landing.

Congrats!

How long does it usually take to get dm and landing?
Thanks in advance

Just received a letter from CIC stating that, '..you have met the criteria for PR, the application will be processed further on receipt of medical and police clearances'.

Also, this email has come two days after we received an email stating that the decisions had already been made and that the Etobicoke office would contact us for further formalities.

Really, the CIC communication defies any logical sequence. :)

But that is you AIP, so you can apply for OHIP.

Yes the sequence is sometimes strange, like @profiler that got the DM letter after receiving the landing appointment!

Thank you Sylvain1 !

It's such a big coincidence and a bit of luck too that I got the AIP just as I posted a query on this forum. :)

Now that I have the AIP, I will apply for the OHIP.

It's variable. Last time I checked the stats in the spreadsheet, I think it was about 30% chance to get DM within 2 weeks after AIP, if not the average was about 2 months. From DM to landing, it's also variable depending in which office you will be landing. Some are very fast like 1-2 weeks after DM, some are slower like Etobicoke and Montréal which takes up to 8 weeks (almost 10 weeks in our case). However I've seen recent posts of people landing in about 5 weeks in these 2 offices.

On the spreadsheet, I don't see SA/AIP for applicants from August (except the first week) and September. So I would say your timeline seems normal. But soon, they should work on August/September. And from SA/AIP to DM to Landing, everything goes relatively fast. So, few more weeks to test your patience ;), but it will come soon!
My application received August 2016.My wife is pregnant and I also asked the MP to send to ICC her doctors note with a letter. They asked me to send my medical and was received June 10.Then they ask d for the certificate of marriage and it was sent on July 1.
I received my visitor status extension approval but OWP still waiting since February!!!
What do you think is next?nothng heard yet!!

Well, it's not a good idea to expose the fetus to X-Radiation, right? I mean, if your wife consents to it, and the physician will permit it, you in theory could do it -- but that's a risk I really don't think you should be taking -- at all.

If you do EE and have her listed as not-accompanying, that will mean another application later (for your spouse and your child) that will take time and money for sponsorship.

I am not an expert on EE (or immi for that matter). I have completed my wife's process, and I like to think I am the backbone for the inland 2016's. But in my opinion, I would suggest just starting your application, and keep your wife listed as accompanying.
one more doubt, how long it took for you to complete your wife's sponsorship process ?
