Hey friends!

These days lately are like a roller coaster. Some days I'm feeling really good (like the fun part of going downhill on a roller coaster) and other days its as if I'm climbing up the hill of a coaster.

My rep has gathered all the proof, and with 5 short days before its due, he's giving me grief over not having joint bank account with my husband. We have insurance together, licenses with our address on it, plus FOUR new affidavits from neighbors, friends, and my husband's employee stating we hold ourself genuinely out to the world as a married couple.

I get this email from him this morning and want to pull my hair out. I feel like I've done everything I can do. We are a legitamately married couple! Is it actually possible my case might go to court? He hasn't had access to the CIC site so there's no way he knows something that I do not.

From rep:

"Ok let's put what we have through and keep fingers crossed. Worst case we end up having to fight CIC in court but I may pull the Minister and ask him to intervene in this before that also.

Challenging times for Americans coming to Canada. Since 45 took power there's not only been an unreasonable volume of applications but a lot of fraud so they're looking at everything so much closer than before"

It's bullshit. Utter bullshit.

My wife and I don't have a joint account...and what of it???

You can't go to court. You waived that right by taking an inland application. Anyone can chat with a Minister or MP. So IMHO, he is mining for more work.

Called CIC this morning 8am.. waiting time 25 minutes and 10 minutes talk to the agent.
9.20am got called by CIC-Winnipeg for reschedule and they gave me new date right away.
I'm surprised they're actually fast :D

Thanks Profiler. There's nothing unusual about us as a couple. The only red flag I could see is that 6 months before Joe and I began dating my divorce with my ex-husband became final (we separated a year before it became final in court).

In all honesty I'm THIS CLOSE to disowning him as my rep. I would have to pay additional $ if a denial happened and I needed to reapply.

TBH, I don't see a reason to have a rep. Divorce was final, similar cultures and language, same area of the continent, etc. You have proofs and supporting Statutory Declarations. So, I really fail to see the need to have a rep. They're a parasite and just collecting your money...

Which options did you press to reach someone?

I got this method from 2017 thread by @ZhabaHulk

1. Call ---> first goes language preferences, you listen to it, then the lady starts to talking about parents and grandparents program and blah-blah-blah.. Once she starts offering you all dial options ---> press 2;
2. Then she switches to talking about sponsoring or smth like that ---> press 1 immediately.
3. She: "You want to sponsor your spouse?" ---> press 0 right away, do not wait until she finishes the speech.
