He does have a driver's license with our address on it, but there are very few accounts we have together. I don't have a driver's license here yet (they would require a canadian passport/work permit /pr card.)

Really? Which province?

hi everyone

so about 2 week back i had my DM in the ECAS on both the sponsor and applicant side, I received the DM email for the applicant but have not received any letter for the sponsor.

I called my rep and she said the landing will not come until you get the SA email, is she telling me the correct thing ?

Thanks

Was your husband the sponsor or primary applicant?
The husband was primary applicant after we send 2 lbs of proof he got approved and he did his landing interview on April 28 2017 at CIC Etobicoke

OMG I HATE LYING REPS..

If the applicant (the PA, the person seeking a PR) has a DM that is positive, then it's pretty safe to assume the Sponsor has a positive decision -- irrespective of the sponsor receiving that letter. Simple fact is, if you applied to be SPONSORED for a Canadian PR, then you require an approved SPONSOR. Right? The approval of the SPONSORSHIP, therefore can be safely assumed.

Your rep lied to you.

Thanks Profiler, I had the same thoughts, I applied for my PR myself and am much familiar with the system however this time for my wife we went through a rep since I have a NB to take care off and I am regretting every part of getting a rep

Congrats on the baby (assuming NB is newborn). I am filled with rage toward reps this week... I am pretty sure since Monday, at least one a day has been found GUILTY of something that screws their client. It's getting old fast.

So, please excuse my outburst. I will go back to sharpening my tools...

Nova Scotia

Rly? NS won't let you use your previous DL? My wife got a beginners, but did use her OWP as one of the papers required to prove where she lives...

Anyway, establish where the Sponsor lives (something like government ID). Then anything the applicant has received there with their name on it will work as evidence. We submitted Cell + DL's + the OWP they sent her (it has her address!), our banking profiles showing our separate accounts have the same civic addresses, T4's, etc.

Thanks profiler, this is helpful. I just went over our GCMS notes again, I can see the VO's been checking the security clearance results, but it was still not started as of October 2016... so assuming they started after that, it's been going for less than 8 months... I don't see labels like s.21 or s.15 though, getting this all under History > Application and History > Activity.

In my last GCMS notes received on 2nd March 2017:

Sponsor Eligibility: Not Started

Medial: Passed (August 6, 2016)

Criminality: In Progress (started October 12, 2016)
Type: RCMP Screening
Status: No Reportable Trace

Information Sharing
Type: Biographic
Partner: USA
Status: No Reportable Trace

Security: Not Started

AHHH! You're so right! I just called and they said all I need is my current license and a piece of mail with address. I'M GOING TOMORROW!
