So about the letter from friends and family to support our proof of relationship.

Most of our friends and family are abroad and also majority of them does not speak French nor English. How are we supposed to do in this case ??

Also, what should be the content of such letters???

I hoping someone would be able to answer some questions.
I'm a Jan 2016 in land applicant. Medicals were requested in Feb 2017 and completed in mid March 2017. Medical Passed ...I've heard nothing else since then. On average how much longer will it take for a decision made, and a landing interview? Things are getting stressful here and didn't apply for a work permit. Thanks

Oh.. that's quiet a wait.

Normally, how long does it take for the DM after the meds have been received?

Also, if a medical request has been received can it be presumed that the sponsor has been approved?

Generally speaking: they need the medical results to be submitted and valid for when you land. They are valid for a year. It is not required for assessing if the PA is a member of the Family Class (which is what they assess at AIP stage). The Security clearance is also required to be valid for landing.

So, one could theorize that they may have passed SA already. Assuming they didn't tick the box on the application forms that they want processing to continue in the event their sponsor does not get approved. This was a box on the Generic Application to Canada form, if memory serves. In our case, my wife got a request to redo her medical the same day we were sent SA. AIP was granted a week after SA. YMMV of course.

Along the same timeline as us, it's possible they are spending more time assessing the proofs you sent, or it's possible you were elected to be the winner of an interview. I hope that's not the case, but considering they are working on April/May 2016 now, either that is true, or perhaps they have sent AIP already. Did you get any email from them yet?? What does ECAS say?

This complicates things. As they would require translation. This will also make it more expensive. It's better to have letters from people who do (or would presumably would know for sure) that you are still living at the same address and are still engaged in your relationship.

In our case, the letters we supplied were from my family. They only live a few minutes away from us, and they see us frequently. So they also know we still live together.

In our letters, we did them in the format of Statutory Declarations. Point form (as them):
"
<blurb to state who they are, of what city and province, and that they are affirming the knowledge of the following>

1 - I am aware <my wife> and <I> married on <this date> at Kitchener City Hall, in Kitchener, Ontario.

2 - With the exclusion of <the date my wife went home to get her paperwork from Moscow>, they have lived continuously at their family home in Cambridge, Ontario since her return date of <the date my wife came home>.

3 - <My wife> and <I> enjoy a continuous and progressive relationship.

4 - (added for my parents) <My wife> is an excellent step-mother to our grandson, <my son's name>.
"

The letters were taken to a notary, where my parents signed them in the witness of the notary, affirming their truth. Two others were taken to offices where public notaries were witnessing, but not in the notary capacity. One of the letters was signed by my brother-in-law, who is a Doctor.

In our proofs, we also made a point of including pictures of my wife with the people who signed those declarations.

Of course, your content will change. However, that's really all you want the letters from them to state. If they choose a slightly less formal format, they could also describe times they have spent with you two, in their own words. To offer strength to their individual statements.

they have to be Canadian citizen or permanent residents for them to write a letter

Nah, they don't. But you'd have to provide a translation performed by a professional translator.

So, we have been considering a DS160 for my wife, so she could wisit the US. We have family down there, so my sister (who goes to upstate NY fairly regularly) was keen to take my wife with her, now that she has status.

For those who don't know what a DS160 is: for foreign nationals (what the US calls "aliens") to enter the US, you have to have a Non-Immigrant visa. That's the DS160.

Today, the US changed all of it's visa forms for internationals. Now it demands email addresses (work, study, personal), as well as social media handles for the past 5 years. See: https://tr.usembassy.gov/wp-content...upplemental-Questions-for-Visa-Applicants.pdf

I think we will just wait until the annexation and assimilation of Novo Rossya (or Novorossia if you prefer) is completed into the federation. Then her Russian PP will permit her entry without a wisa...

Aww SVG! SLU sends passport applications every week, especially if it is urgent. And if you pay more (CAD$30) they will send it right away. If I were you I would call and explain the urgency. Ask to speak to the CG, if you have to.

well they had it since last week wednesday. and i called on monday and they told me its going in the next batch and they had no idea when.
they keeps telling me the whole process takes 4-6 weeks... well this is week number 2

I got DM as sponsor last night. Guess they're only waiting for the documents they required yesterday. Closer than ever

That's why they sent the request for additional proofs. They need them to decide on AIP.

This is what we got

> Proof of Relationship: Document proving your relationship with your inviter/family member

Evidence of cohabitation: Evidence of cohabitation that could be used to confirm whether a sponsored spouse or partner is cohabiting with their sponsor which may include: Joint bank accounts or credit cards, Joint ownership of residential property, Joint residential leases, Joint rental receipts, Joint utilities accounts (electricity, gas, telephone), Important documents of both parties show the same address, for example, identification documents, driver’s licenses, insurance policies, etc.,

This must be received at this office by: 2017/06/30

There's a square or checkbox before "Evidence of cohabitaton"

So question is Are they asking for both proof of relationship and cohabitation or cohabitation only ?

I am not looking at the document, but from what you have described, I would say that it's probably both.
