Hello all

IS there any Dec 2016 in land applicant got DM or AIP? my file still stuck at Background check since mid april. No SA no AIP no DM ... its just in process and the next step review eligibility. no interview needed. and we processing your background check

Not even close. The vast majority of SA/AIP/DM's being issued are from March/April 2016 right now. You are looking at an average of 13.5mos.

Finally i got my landing interview in 2 weeks in Edmonton.
i am February 2016 like Profiler no DM received but my ecas shows it.
I was wondering if i can travel after my landing before receiving my PR card.

They will tell you there, that you really shouldn't. But if you must, then you must go to a Canadian Embassy with your COPR to order a Travel Document, which costs an extra $50 or something, and is one time use only.

How about the 12 month processing time they promised!!! Thats insanely crazy to wait more.

If you applied after December 14 2016, then you might want to check out the 2017 thread. But, to be fair, you don't need to see any activity at all. Sylvain1 (who lands tomorrow -- Congrats btw!) went from nothing to DM in a matter of hours. Same with GuyanaGirl. And frankly, the posted times for before December 14 2016 was 26 months, so 13.5 months, where most VO's were posting 12-14 mos for OUTLAND's is VERY reasonable.

Hi Guys! i sponsored my commonlaw partner on July 22, 2016. Just received our GCMS notes.

It says :
Created: 2017/04/04
***Review Required***- Application identified as part of the 2016 inventory reduction exercise for certain Spouse or Common-Law partner in Canada applications. Application requires closer review.

I am just a bit concerned with the note saying our application requires closer review. Do we need to submit additional proof of relationship to make our case stronger?

Does anyone here got the same GCMS note?

Any input will be appreciated!

Thanks a lot!

It's no issue. It was a program they talked about doing, but then they expanded it to everyone. "Closer review" means they were uncertain if they could fast-track your application. No big deal...

Here is the backgrounder: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2016/ob624.asp

And it's long been verified by many sources, including our MP, that every file is in the SIR now, so there isn't a special program for it anymore.

And, no additional proof isn't required here. Until they ask for it, it's not necessary.

Yea,M n GTA

So, there is a 90% chance that they have assigned the file to Etobicoke for a final review. This is a common step they take to get another set of eyes on the file before they approve it. Generally, what they will do is, once the officer reaches a decision, they will usually punt the file to another officer (either inside CPC-M or at the local CIC office where you will be landing) to get a second approval.

Given that Etobicoke is choked right now, I am not surprised that there was no activity, and it also explains the state your file is in. Usually, Etobicoke revisits files every 6-8 weeks, so it could be any day. If you have AIP, then they don't have a concern that you are a member of the class.

Another possibility is that they have been delayed in getting Criminality or Security completed. After AIP they assess these and your medical before DM.

Hello all,

A question about how often the MyCIC "Application/profile details" section is updated.

We sent in some additional documentation that IRCC requested from us as well as the police certificates. However, on the mycic website it states:

"Review of additional documents: We need additional documents to process your application. Check your messages below for details."

We sent the documents approximately 3 weeks ago. Is it unusual that the website still says that the additional documentation is required? Could it mean that they haven't received the documents for some reason, or just that they haven't got around to looking at the documents/updating the system?

Thanks in advance

How long to "accept" them, depends how you sent them.

myCIC used to be fast, but lately is pretty slow. If you are concerned, you might want to queue up on the phone to verify they have them...
