If you are receiving the same email as others receiving today, it clearly says in the bottom of page 1

"If you have not yet submitted the following documents, you must submit them to this office:"
"If you have already submitted police certificates as noted above please disregard"

So it is mostly a group sending reminder email to me and someone has called CIC and confirmed that. But do come back and check what others say..
I received the same email it says:
If you have not submitted the following documents, you must submit them to this office:
case processing-vegreville

why's that, if you don't mind me asking.

The application type is "Open Work Permit". Just by nature, "Open" means "Any" in this context. So, it's not going to matter if you have an employer (or selected that box in error) or not. In fact, if it wasn't for the reuse of forms (to avoid redesign and maintenance), I don't even think they would include that check box at all...

looks generic indeed. It says in the letter : if you already submitted Police Certificate then disregard the letter.

I receive the email too about 20 minutes ago.

That makes me think: should I submit a new Canadian police certificate when I hit the 6-month mark in May? I applied in Nov 2. Has been here since early October on a multiple tourist visa, and received my OWP last month.

[Edit: I have submitted police certificates from all countries I've lived since I was 18]

There is a spreadsheet that has reported progress.

That said, there is many on this thread who have waited more than 6 months since the last communication from CIC. For us in March, it was 13 or 14 months.

Though it's possible they will ship them sooner. However, I wouldn't be dwelling on it too much. You've barely started :).

No. They will specifically ask for fingerprints. Otherwise, they can ask RCMP themselves.
