Agreed. Better to not clog up the Access to Information channel with useless notes. Besides, you will just be disappointed after waiting a month for a blank piece of paper.

Today we have just linked the application using UCI for both ECAS and GCKey without receiving the email confirmation of the AOR and found the application number. Then we called CIC, just to confirm if that is the application number we suppose to receive. Also, we asked to verify our contact information on file since we highly suspected that my wife's (the sponsor's) email was entered wrong and that was the reason why we did not receive the AOR. The result turned out to be what we expected. They entered the email address wrong into their system. Therefore, I highly recommend you contact CIC for a verification. The guy who picked up our phone call did gave us a bit hard time at first saying that the information he got is that CIC is still processing cases received by Nov. 18th today. Then we told him that we have successfully linked our application online and then he became more corporative. Your UCI should be the same with the eight digit number on your Canadian visa if you applied any type of visa. Give it a try and good luck!

Thanks for that (+1 for that), i tried logging into ECAS and I can see my wife's application details. Seems like they have my email address incorrectly in their system as well. I'm trying to link GCKey and ECAS using my UCI, but it is not able to detect the application. Any tips on that. I'll call the CIC guys to figure this out as well.

Well this is very strange, soon after logging into ECAS and see my wife's application being received, and trying to link GCKey and ECAS (Which failed), i get an email from CIC -- Official AOR email.
Strange, but still it worked out in the end.

Well, i have a feeling that GCMS could be linked with GCKey and since I failed in linking ECAS and GCKey accounts, they would have noticed the same email address and UCI number in their failed logs, thus silently sending me note saying hey we received your app ! and correcting their mistake.

While there will be some link there, they won't be checking logs. They check only for intrusion detection.

First you gotta be clear which UCI you put in. Apparently according to the guy who we spoke to yesterday, the sponsor and the main applicant have two separate UCI #s. The UCI for sponsor as in our case is the old UCI my wife (the sponsor) had when she first immigrated to Canada. We have tried to check on ECAS by using both numbers and were able to see both status separately. If you use the sponsor's UCI number you can see it is showing that they have recieved your application to SPONSOR. If you use the main applicant's UCI number you see it is showing as they have received your application. However, we were only successful in linking the main applicant's PR application using my UCI #. So I think you should be careful which UCI number you used.

We have just tried the following:

Permanent residence --> Family Class (Spouses) -->Unique Client Identifier (UCI) and Family Name --> Enter the main applicant's UCI number --> main applicant's family name --> City of birth --> country/territory of birth --> Passport info --> Province intend to live --> City/Town/Village --> Current marital status --> number of family members (this one is a bit tricky you need to be careful, we put 2 since me and my wife we only had 2 people in our family, I guess it need to consistent with the number on your application but I am not sure which number it is suppose to match)

Also some people in this forum said that you may be able to leave some of the above information blank such City of birth etc.. We did not follow that instruction and was successful the first time we tried. But you may also want to try that if you still couldn't link it. You will find your application number starting with an F following 9 digits if you are able to link it. At least that is what happened in our case. Good luck!

The sig was necessary. I answered the "OMG ECAS SHOWS ONLY ONE LINE NOW ON SPONSOR SIDE -- WHAT DOES THIS MEAN -- IS MY APPLICATION REJECTED -- ETC" about a dozen times. So, I figured on the very next occurrence that I was going to do it. That, and Maria and Carol made me do it .

Thanks, I tried all that before i received the AOR email this morning, ended up getting locked out. I'm going to try to link my wife's application again when I have the access tomorrow morning, since I now have the file number. Hope it would be easy this time..

We have just received the application number a few days ago and we are trying to link our OWP using GCKey but failed. Any one has any idea? Is it too early to do so? When should we try again? Thank you.
