Remember it's about all family class---parents, grandparents, kids, and spouses. Guess we'll find out soon. Not sure if you've listened to any of the CIMM meetings they had on family reunification.

No unfortunately not. But unless he is handing out AIP's or DM's to everyone in inventory tomorrow, he might have a visit from me to his constituency office sometimes between now and the new year... and I likely won't be very inviting...

Won't happen. Start of the CIMM meetings he mentioned wanting to make an announcement before year end that processing times were down (all family--not just spouses)...but to do that it would have to happen. We know it hasn't happened, so this may just be an update from the study--or something else. who knows.

the word "reunification" doesn't sound promising, as all of us in this thread are inland and already together, therefore seemingly also the ones that get delayed and put on the backburner the most because they justify it by giving us longer work permits and saying that we are unified already...

not sure why you took it in a negative way, we all need the process to speed up and get on with our lives, I wasn't wanting to pass anyone in the queue, I just want the government to process everyone in a reasonable amount of time as it is creating hardship in peoples' lives having to wait such unreasonable processing times with their lives on hold in many ways

I find it disheartening to hear that there are people that started in early 2015 that are still waiting....

i understand what your saying, my husband is late 2015 the reason why they are so backlog is because of the syrians. we try to be patient

It's supposed to be big (good) news for Family Class processing times....

I will stay judgement on whether I am taking a drive into Markham to give him a piece of my mind until I hear what he has to say.... I don't want to waste a vacation day for nothing, right?

or that rat the immigration minister is telling us he is going to bring yarzdi in

The Yazidi's are coming. It's a thing. He said they would start showing up around february..

Sure I figured that, that's why I was already planning which day to head to Markham... It's only an hour's drive to be face to face and express to him what he might need to change...

Nothing from the failed update yesterday that dropped 2 lines from the Sponsor side.

Processing times are now half. 12 months. Inland OR outland. 12 months. Period. Whether you are in the queue or not. It's a FIFO again.

And Condition 51 is gone.

EDIT: I have decided that, if he sticks to the above, a drive to Markham may not be required after all..

When is this in effect because it's been 14 mths for me and they've been doing a background check since October. They have everything medical done, PCC done everything.

I didn't hear, but usually when they make statements like that, without dates on them, it means effective immediately.

There is also only one process now. Only one FC PR. One application package, whether you are inside or outside of Canada.

I know they get thousands of applications but it really shouldn't take so long especially if the spouses are living in Canada already.

They are also trying to drive the processing times lower than 12 months. But the new time is 12 months.

in the announcement I'm listening to, he is saying "as of today" the processing time will be reduced to 12 months and they want to reduce it further in the coming months.

also:
1 checklist for package
1 guide for both streams - 75 pages
meds/pccs not required upfront, submitted later in process
new process to be online dec. 15 (I'm assuming this means, then new packets will be available as of this date, not that the application can be submitted online)
no more condition 51
