Considering that they are eliminating the inland-outland concept and reducing processing time to <12 months, I wonder if the OWP pilot will be renewed for 2017!

What's the point of it, if you can have a PR in the same time? (Considering ~6 months from arrival. Application goes in, wait 4 months; 10 months and $255?? not worth it).

We need Maria to plan us a party!

Okay i had a chance to listen on on the message from IRCC minister...

here's a few notes Starting March 2017

-there will be only one application for inland and outland applications
- instead of numerous checklist, there will be one unified checklist.
- they are working to reducing processing time from average 24 months to 12 months,
if you have already applied prior to this date process will take 4 months.
- PR 2 year conditions will be removed
- Age of dependency will increase to 22 form 18
- Standards of medical, security and criminality back ground will stay the same
-they have received 25 million in funding to hire more agents to help with processing times.


It was really muffled but i hope i got the important notes.

So I basically have to wait another 4 mths for my husband to get his status and fur my daughter to get here if I'm understanding right.

They just need to churn out the rest of 2015 applicants before the end of this year which I know is impossible seeing there's not much days left in the year. I'm sure they get two weeks holiday break. 2017 should be all about the 2016 applicants.

CIC works Christmas Day. There is offices open processing.

Also i'm still awaiting AOR for my application. Do you guys know what email address do we get the emails from for AORs, just so that I can make sure I dont miss it

no, I think they mean 2017. they are saying that they are reducing the time to 12 month, so as of today (December 2016) any files they have as of now should technically be approved by Dec 2017. this is not to suggest other applications will be approved before that time. they are just saying 12 months from now, all files we currently have will be completed, at least that is my interpretation.

That's making it a lot longer than 12 months though for some people. I don't know,this is a bit confusing.
