@Maria Mira Bella how are doing, long time no hear well on December 14,2016 will be exactly 1 year into the inland spousal sponsorship for my husband. well last modification on my husband file was pcc request in June and last date modified is November 4,2016 I check themail ecase and everything in all 5 categories is in process waiting for my Christmas pressir (present) that we get his stuff. How is your case going Maria.

Hi Guys, have a silly question here about the conditional PR

So I moved in with my common-law partner on Sep 01, 2014 , we've filed the in-land app. on Oct 11,2016. Assuming that my PR application will be approved. My question is that , will the conditional PR apply to me ? I'm not sure if my common law relationship falls in two-year period or more that a two-year period since it's just passed 2 years at the time we filed the application.

Condition applies if the couple:
•is married for two years or less; or
•dated for four years, but is married for two years or less; or
•have been in a conjugal relationship for two years or less; or
•has cohabited in a common-law relationship for two years or less; and
•Do not have any children in common

Condition does not apply if the couple:
•is married for more than two years; or
•have been in a conjugal relationship for more than two years; or
•has cohabited in a common-law relationship for more than two years; or
•Have children in common.





PS. Don't get me wrong, I'm just curious and I'm not planning to do anything ;D

You have cohabitated in the relationship for more than 2 years. You should not have a condition on your PR.

The rule for conditional permanent residence is going to be repealed anyway:

Thanks for the info, polarvolcano.

Below are my application related details:

* applied for OWP along with my PR application(inland spousal) on the - October 11th' 2016,
* CIC recieved the applications on - Oct 13th' 2016
* Received a mail from the CIC on - Nov 7th'2016 (CIC had returned my documents as i had missed to include one Sponsor related document)
* Reapplied including the Sponsor document on - Nov 19th '2016.

Can someone please advice:
1. Will the OWP processing time include the date i first filed my application or does it count only from the time i reapplied it?
(i.e. In my case, ~4 months for OWP includes October as well, or counts from November only? ).

The time you reapplied. Hopefully they held the OWP for you since that only counts if sent with or after the PR application.

Hi Profiler: I Had another question regarding medical (I know it never ends eh... ), I was supposed to upload/ send copy of the medical information doc office was supposed to give me right? Now I got an information sheet saying Blah blah blah tests are required. Now After a week, doc office is saying that information sheet is all I get. They have uploaded their part in e-medical system but they cannot another information sheet saying the these tests have been performed. Now one of my friend who applied through Express entry (Canadian experience) told me he got such an information sheet saying tests have been performed. Do you by any chance have any clue about whether it will be okay to upload the information sheet I have currently for the application and copy and send it for OWP since it only says required not performed. The doc office says once CIC open the UMI number they will be able to see it anyway. What do you think?

Hi Sam, yes the doctor's office will use eMedical to link your medical to your passport/UCI. That's all that is needed. You can send a scanned copy of the eMedical sheet to CIC via CSE if you wanted to.

Today my husband received AOR email from CIC. We got a UCI number and application number!! Yayyyyy!!! I'd like to thank you all of your help. Especially Profiler

I just want to double confirm that since we received AOR, that means my application does not make any major mistake and they will go processing my files, right? And AOR could confirm that I have implied status so that I don't need to renew my visitor visa anymore, right?

I sent out my application on 1st.November, 2016 and 2nd.Novemeber, 2016 was received by CIC.

I miss him too. To be honest, I told the forum to remove my account. I can be a spectator, and not have to post (after a rash of things happening that made me resent even posting here). I saw a bunch of posts with my name attached, so I decided I would at least answer those.

Hi, anyone have any insight in changing your name (i.e. assuming your spouse's name) during the PR process? I know they recommend to wait it out but in my case, the sponsor would be getting the name change not the applicant.

Hi Matthars, I guess this post was over-looked. It's easy for the sponsor to change (assume) your surname. It will need to start at the Provincial level. Once the province starts the change, you can submit the change to CIC via CSE. They will advise if they approved the change.

Your spouse will be assuming your surname I assume. This will create a "Also Known As" record. So your partner can use either a "Maiden" name, or "Married" name. Some also use a hyphenated combination of same.

You still have to advise CIC, as your partner will (eventually) need to update the passport to include the AKA and there is a contract that they have entered into with CIC (so they will update the undertaking).

The CIC will not start the process, the province will have to.

Hi profiler.I was reacting to one post here.AHCIP does not provide this benefit but it can be applied online if one is low income.It covers prescriptions but does not give anything else like money for rent ,food etc. Does it mean social assistance?

It does state that Sponsored Immigrants are not eligible. So, my guess is, it's probably a type of social assistance.
