I am from the US and I just traveled last week with mine and had no issues at all. It is a risk, but if you have nothing else that makes you inadmissible and are traveling with all your documents you should have no problems. I also traveled almost once every three months with my prior work permits and never had an issue then. Of course, there is always a risk but I deem it to be a pretty small risk if you have nothing else that makes you inadmissible and are traveling with all your documents.

Hi Oliver ,

So when you travelled to the USA on the open work permit , then did you update your file for the same?

He only brought the work permit to the US. He didn't use it to enter Canada. It does not permit (re)entry. Only a Visitor Visa (either issued before travel, or at the border when entry is sought), PR or Canadian passport can permit entry. Work permits don't permit entry.

Hi,

When CIC requests PCC , and we send it to them , then do they send the acknowledgement of receipt for that as well? We did send them the PCC , but we didnt receive any acknowledgement from them!

Generally no. How did you send it? We scanned, submitted a CSE that advised them that we were sending via courier the original (so they could technically start working on criminality), then sent (same day) via purolator. I have a receipt from the CSE and from purolator. If they want to say they didn't get it, I have two proofs they did...

We sent it to our consultant and she sent it to them, but when we called the CIC agent , everytime they tell us that the PCC has been received, so I think it should be fine !What do you say?

Well, you have to trust your consultant. I can only guess that they have it.

Actually, this is a special case where the work permit does permit re-entry to Canada. To return to Canada after a visit only to the USA (or St. Pierre et Miquelon), anyone who has a valid work permit (or study permit) is visa-exempt. So, if you got your OWP and your TRV has expired, you can still visit the USA as you wish as long as you return to Canada before the work/study permit expires. Sounds crazy, but it is true.

You are right, it does not permit re-entry on its own and I am more than aware of that as I have had numerous working permits and it is also clearly stated at the bottom of the OWP. What I meant by that I traveled with mine was simply that I brought it with me because at the end of the day it is much easier to satisfy an Officer if you have that magical little piece of paper in your possession. As I noted, I am from the US so I do not require any type of visitor visa upon entry which probably makes it a little easier and less of a hassle for me to travel while PR is pending. Anywho, to answer your original question RV23 there is nothing you have to do when it comes to updating your file if you do choose to travel.

Hi Guys!

They sent us another request for Schedule A and IMM5406.

What address do we need to send it to.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Did they tell you what was wrong with the initial one? Does your husband speak a language other than canuck? Eg: French Creole ?

EDIT:
Is there gaps in time, did he use black ink? There has to be something in the information that you might have over-looked that made them request it again...

Finally received gcms notes.. there are lots of dates but nothing significant sticks out.
@Profiler.. your theory might be valid. Note made on June 17th about being part of inventory reduction exercise.
