This is such a boring argument. If you think it is more convenient to print and sign and scan a form instead of just having your wife input her info into a few boxes in an online form, then I guess there is not much else to say except that you enjoy signing forms. I mean, I assume she would forward you the notes when they send them to her.
Heh...
No they'd redact my info.. because my consent wasn't given...

You are just arguing for the sake of arguing and losing your original point. What personal info about you could they redact that your wife doesn't already know? I assume she knows your name, date of birth, etc.

Anyway, I got my notes; 31 pages, nothing blacked out. If we want the sponsor notes we'll just apply for them online in the same way. All I'm saying is that form is an unnecessary complication for people here.

Nah. I'm only reciting the truth. I'm truly sorry that bothers you.

Since you've watched so interestedly, my first attempt contained an incorrect consent. When they sent the documents, two pages were redacted based on Privacy Act section 12 regarding personal information about another party.. and I'm not the only one.

So, yes, if you want a complete set of notes under family sponsorship, consent is required. That is the truth.

Yes, obviously. You asked for someone else's notes and didn't fill in the consent form properly. If she had requested her notes herself it wouldn't have been a problem and you wouldn't need the form. That is my whole point.

Ok, guys. I asked for the sponsor's notes too, along with mine. Just filled the form with my husband's details AND his email address and that's it. There is no way on earth they could know who was at the computer filling in the info or where (I could have been in Zimbabwe for all I care) as long as the info is correct. I told the husband after a week or so, not to worry if he receives an email from IRCC with some odd symbols attachment and that's it.

So, as I said before, I'm gonna let you know what happens (now I'm really curious!)

Maria, here's the wording in the notes about the backlog reduction. Interestingly, this note was added the same day they sent the PCC request.
"Application identified as part of the 2016 inventory reduction exercise for certain Spouse or Common-Law Partners in Canada applications"

My whole point is a family sponsorship application in it's context will have information of at least two people. Therefore, to expect to receive a full set of notes, consent is required.

Therefore, my original post was correct.

family sponsership

hello there
need your help for family immigration
I am a permanent resident of Montreal Canada with my parent sponsored by my sister. I have my brother who is 33 now, unmarried and is working in India.
Is there any way to call him here in Canada as a permanent resident
before i read some article that in Manitoba you can sponsor any of your family member regardless of age (upto age 45). so is there any province in Canada that i can still reside there and can call my brother on a permanent basis.
can i call him here as a last member in my family
give me information how can i sponsor him.

Thank you for giving time to read this post

Thanks. Seems to be like an ongoing process.

You should probably post in a new thread. I'm no expert, bit I'll try to see if I can help.

Are you married? And how long have you had PR status? In terms of immigration, all provinces follow the CIC. Some (Quebec) have extra processes.

There is a sponsorship in the family class for unmarried people to sponsor other types of family members. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-who.asp under Option 2.

There are also other streams that he could apply for a PR under if you cannot sponsor him directly. For example, the economic class would enable people to apply for PR directly, if they qualify. You can see those here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/econ/ .

If you're in Canada (and you have some form of status -- I can't say if they check this or not), you can request information pertaining to you under the Privacy Act. If you're requesting case notes, I'd suggest you fill out and send the consent form when you apply.

Applications against the Privacy Act are free.

Hi guys,

Do you have any sense on when one would get the work permit if applied for both (common law sponsorship and the related work permit) at the end of July?

Cheers
