LOL I didn't write it for applause, hopefully some folks WILL hang around after that magical day and pass on their words of wisdom to the next generation...we actually see it on this forum right now, active forum members have suddenly disappeared once they have their own goals achieved.

I am a citizen, so technically I only need to be here to glean a sense of time and if I did things right. If I see something that I can answer, or think I can answer, I speak up. I think I will continue the pattern after ward too, because I like to think it helps.

And some of the little problems people get themselves into are more interesting than waiting for the IT department to deploy your server...

Do they give us CPR in the Interview or issue visa or its accounts as landing (Like entering the country). Can she leave the country immediately after or she should wait for PR card to arrive??

Yes you will get the visa at the interview, installed into her passport, this does not automatically grant her re-entry to Canada, she needs the PR card, or another document.

She can leave Canada 5 minutes after the interview..nothing is checked on the way out, and if you both live at the same address (I certainly hope you do!) depending on how long she is gone, you can fedex her PR card to her (pay for every sort of tracking etc, if that card gets lost...), to show on return. Expect at least a minimum of 6 weeks to be processed and delivered. If she has no PR card by the time of her return then she will need to apply for a Permanent Resident Travel Document to re-enter Canada.

Personally unless it is a pressing engagement I would wait the 6 weeks or so, and travel with the card, knowing I have it on my person.

If it is an extended trip (years) just remember she still has to satisfy the residency requirements for PR, to facilitate re-entry and renewal.

Ahh but profiler, you are a lot like me, how many times today have we both responded to the same question at the same time, if we can help, we do.

In your case I would take the chance being so close to the date when they MUST process....I would just apply, by the time you get an interview (if successful) your permit will be here, and can be shown at that stage...if you applied today, and they phoned tomorrow (unlikely, companies hate to appear desperate) to schedule an interview...just arrange it for Wednesday next week..that would be the 7th Sept.

Thanks, profiler and Canad1anAl1en! Yeah, I'm still working on my app - hopefully I get it in tonight!

I FINALLY got my application number from CIC to link my paper app to my GCKey, but it still won't link up. Bah! I guess I'll still ride these last few days out in the dark until the 4th when they say the determination will be made.

Hi,

When we get the PCC done from Delhi police, then do we get an original paper mailed from them or just we have to download the online police clearance certificate issued to us and submit it to the CIC.?

Please anyone let me know!

Thanks

It should be sent as a paper copy for immigration purposes, it will not be sent to you as a downloadable file.

Hello Everyone,

I would like to do my medical in advance though CIC still didn't request for it.
Do you guys think this is a wise decision to send it in advance? I would like to speed up
the process.
Thanks in advance.

Bests,
Alam

Teeth-grinding update: You know, these emails that CIC sends you, every time they click on your file in MyCIC? Every time you get an email stating that there has been an update to your application ... nothing. All that good behavior and patience down the drain once you expect that you might receive another email soon with some actual information ... :-\

Hi Alam,
We did ours upfront and sent a copy of the eMedical paperwork with our package. As it turns out, it seems to be hit and miss for recieving unless requested. And there is only a 1 yr life on the exam. I think you might omly meed xrays for subsequent exams -- though don't quote me on that.

My advice: just wait to be asked.

But of course, do as you feel most comfortable.

So I made a previous post with my rendition of how I think case processing works...

I may have to recind that and state that I think they get off from dicking people around, after hearing that!

Haha, I'm usually in my little Zen-zone and can ignore the urge to check CIC. I had just talked to my boss that I might have to take a day off some time in the hopefully near future, to travel to Vancouver and potentially have an interview. So imagine my excitement when I receive an email just a few days after my "bold" announcement...

Yeah that just makes it worse... I feel for ya!

Morning, guys!

Apparently the government is trying indeed to reduce the backlog and process the apps faster. Look what I found on LinkedIn jobs app:

" Senior Processing Officer
The Government of Ontario is looking for several Senior Processing Officers to support the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program in the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.
"

I curently receive notifications related to immigration jobs, as I have some background on law and public relations. I totally agree with Canad1anAl1en, if you can help, if you can make it better even for one person, then you're not leaving just a carbon footprint begin you. So personally I really consider a job in this area. It's a win-win. Anywayz, that was my morning coffee rant...
