Funny, I was just thinking about the same thing when I looked at the google docs... My sense is that it is a combination of straightforward applications, dates, and new case officers being hired and taking on new cases as they come in. Happy to hear more ideas or if anyone else has more background information!

For the longest time I was worried that our application might not be straightforward, but after reading so many stories here, and seeing how things are progressing for my app, I think that I most likely am in this category.

hey Vaya
looking at your timeline I noticed that they have asked for extra docs from you in June. Where did you have send the files? Mississauga or elsewhere?
thanks ZumbaG

Hi zumbagirl - yeah they asked me to fix two forms I had made mistakes in. I send it to them online via a Case Enquiry and heard back about them having received it last week. So far no originals have been requested...

It seems that they just updated the processing time for Work Permits (new employer) paper applications. Now it says 100 days and working on March 29th applications. Whether this processing time applies to OWP for inland spouses sponsorship applications or not, I don't really know. Anyway let's hope they keep it under the 120 days originally announced.

My husband was requested to send some more documents to Vegreville, and we just received a letter via email an this was basically it..

"This acknowledges receipt of the requested information or documentation detailed in a recent request sent between June 23 and June 26, 2016. If you are unable to submit all requested items, you must inform us by the deadline indicated in that request letter. Failure to provide the requested information before the deadline specified in that request letter or to inform us of the reasons for any delay may result in the refusal of your application."

Why do they send you a letter with information.. then right beside it say something that's contradictory
and makes you feel like you haven't done what you were asked.. just a random thought
are all their letters pretty much generic??

We just got exactly the same letter. We only had one item requested, a Police Certificate, which we sent a copy of as well as a letter explaining that the original was included in the original application package. This was sent by mail to Vegreville as requested.

The statement is not necessarily contradictory, for example if they requested 2 documents and you sent back only one. But I agree that the wording is frustrating and doesn't give you that sense of comfort that you are looking for. I feel that sense of closure will only come once you are holding that shiny PR card in your hand. Hang in there, at least they are sending updates and seem to be working on our applications. This is already much faster and more transparent than I expected.

thank you for the reply I agree... it's just kind of annoying you know, you get an email of any correspondence for that matter and your heart is beating so fast .. and the wording turns out to be crappy lol but our application was send in March and I got sponsor approval already just waiting on applicant approval now from Vegreville.. seems to be going faster

Same here. Its the two dates that has us thinking. We only received the one letter requesting police check on the first date. Did they send another request for further info on second date & it hasn't arrived? Why put a second date?

Maybe it's to allow for time for email to be delivered? They should put for documentation detailed in a recent request dated blah blah blah.

It's a range of dates, ours had that too. They must have separate little campaigns sending out bursts of similar requests. I don't think you missed anything.

I may be talking through my backside (have been known to do so in the past) but looking at the spreadsheet is it possible they are doing a certain month at a time based on application dates in batches, after identifying they are straightforward? Instead of the old way of working on one application for say a day then sticking it at the bottom of the pile for 3 months or more? Again happy to stress I'm a layman, guessing like the rest. Just basing that hunch on dates, certain batches seem to get same dates for key events (except the OWP if included in the original pack, that's handled by a totally different dept, and does seem to be first come first serve). If that was the case I would surmise they have started working on April now (I saw a march 29th app got AIP). I'm expecting my month, June, to start getting good news in Mid to late August...well I can hope.

Our application was received 30 March and we received AOR1 on 2 May 2016 but no SA yet.

Our app arrived Feb 19th, AOR never came in (for my husband) but ECAS says April 12th, SA was July 6th (so 2-ish months after), my AOR came in June 10th and AIP now July 13th, so about 1 month. Did you send all your papers in ahead of time?

Today we received the same below letter and i called cic they told me this is generic letter and no worries about it,

in jun they asked us to send police certificate for my wife and we already sent it with original application to mississauga, they cic said to me as long as we have the proof like tracking histry with signature from canada post and embassy receipt we are in safe side, and this is what i did: in July 4 i sent the proof to vegreville

OWP arrived in the mail from Vegreville this morning, took close to 4 months to get glad it finally made it!
