No direct is $$$. Usually one stop in Western/Central Europe typically (from Pearson). Last year her mom did Moscow <-> Paris <-> Toronto return for 860 all in.

Are the layover reasonable? Last summer we flew to my wife's country (Iran), we had a 10 hours layover in Frankfurt... that was the toughest part for me. But it was either that or something like 600$ more per ticket.

We shoot for 1-1.5hr layovers. If they are longer, then we tend to avoid.

Her mom's visit was 1.5hrs in Paris. Her last visit was a 1hr layover in Helsinki. The times she flew through Frankfurt were about 1 hour too from what I remember. So long ago now haha! She did like the Lufthansa/Air Canada pair of flights. But then they became expensive .

We ended up with flights Quebec, Montreal, Frankfurt, Tehran, Mashhad... I promised myself we would never do it again. Both Turkish and Qatar offers flights with only one stop from Montreal to Mashhad.

Hello everyone! I may seem new to this even though I'm actually not (because I've followed this timeline updates and 2015) for a while.. just never officially joined until now. I would like to first say congrats to everyone who I've seen got through after some time of their struggles, concerns and lots of hope and help from those in the forum. I'm a little concerned myself.. we know how this process makes one feel. My wife.. born Canadian sponsored me after I've overstayed seeing her. These are my details so far..

have you thought about just doing your medical and sending it in? We did ours without them asking, a long time ago, sent it in a long time ago, they just recently told us "medical complete", so that was nice to get affirmation that we did a good thing way back when we thought of just doing it and sending it in..... we were worried that it would expire and we would have to re-do it but they approved it a few days ago

Yeah MTL would for sure have a better variety of airlines serviced. For us, Pearson is literally 45min down the 401, and it's apparently one of the biggest in North America (> 500,000 movements per year for aircraft). It's not Atlanta, but it's in the top 5...
