Just putting this out: We never found the OWP in myCIC.

@GuyanaGirl: Did you apply to extend your partner's OWP?

Si, that we did....made a paper application in January..then realized i could have done this online also ( and less of a wait)

His current OWP expires early May. Just a bit concerned i made a booboo and picked the wrong unit number so hoping that wont delay it. I did include a thorough cover letter explaining what exactly we need and his current situation blah blah...

We didn't apply to extend....she was instructed to update her Russian PP, as it was going to expire in Oct of 2017...she did so before her return trip to live in Canada..

@Anyone else: Can you advise GuyanaGirl here? Preferably en Espanol?

he did a passport update late last year also, updated via ecas and got confirmation that the update was received a month after.

received email today to do a medical exam. inland app submitted without medical exam last May 2016.

Got up at 5am PDT this morning to call and it was still "high number of calls", couldn't even put me on hold.
I've called 11 times today so far and it's only 9:30am for me, still nothing.
If they always have high callers maybe get more people!
Been trying to contact them for weeks and nothing. I need answers, I'm so scared and confused.

When I was finally able to see my OWP application (separate from the application) in MyCIC, it was exactly 3 mo after I applied and it showed approved the day before I linked.

Open question here:

Has anyone ever been able to link an OWP EXTENSION application to their my GCkey acct ?
Trying to link and it only found and linked the initial application.

I just got in line... They are working on apps before Monday March 21, 2016...

1 - 1 - 1 - <enter numbers from application ># - Enter 4 digits of year of birth - wait and hit 1. They transferred me to someone.

So there was someone else in this group that had a similar issue with their OWP sent along with their application
Eventually CIC contacted him for a copy of his passport, they claim that one was not included with the OWP application.

I think they had a consultant also, so up to this day no one really knows if it was a stall tactic by cic or what. After he submitted the passport copy, he got owp within 3 weeks.

Someone also left a tip within the last 2--30 pages of this group on how to put yourself in waiting when calling cic so you can please with an agent. Have a look and try that.

I wish there was a way to "Pin" useful posts on a toolbar/task bar to access quickly within the group ...this would be one of them that needs pinning
