Did your wife work in a required industry as an expert or professional, where that industry is lacking people in those positions?

no, she completed pre-college and then finished 4 years of University in Canada and now for the last few years has been on post graduate work permits and now the "pending PR" OWP, I didn't think they mixed "work related immigration" with "family immigration" though, they are completely different categories

just checked the processing time via cic website and found out that all inland app submitted before December 7, 2016 were back to 26 months processing times. why?

how long volkov

hi Carol, you applied before us so I know we are not the only ones waiting and we are all stressed through this long process, we made our PR application in March this year, just seeing people that applied after us already showing spousal approval, etc, when ours is only showing "received and in process" but no other progress, hence my post in frustration

best of luck to you, I hope you will be giving us the good news that yours is finished soon and they finally catch up on all this

ours was the same as Profiler says, we were worried about it and stressed waiting and not hearing anything and checking website etc, then all of the sudden it was in our mailbox 3.5 months after we applied, and it is good for 2 years

I called on Friday December 30,2016, I got lucky I got a nice agent she is like we are back logged or behind and working on July and August 2015 applications, she is like everything is looking good on your part since no interview and blah blah, we got your husband pcc on July 25,2016 I am like ok she is like we do with everyone case has to cic officers 2 of them look at all case and so blah blah like right now rcmp and Cis looking into his record which is clean and she like there's an agent working on our case she is like all you need is the landing interview, copr and rrpf. I am like so we have till December 2017 she was like yes or maybe lessome than another 12 months but you are right about that so I asked why people before us has it quick application she was because these people have like babies coming or asap I dunno why I am just sitting tight I suggest you call

thanks carolbb, I'll probably give it a few more weeks and then call and see, having to wait towards the end of 2017 would be depressing, our lives are really on hold in the meantime with wanting to apply to go back to school and the long lead times that universities have, it would then be fall 2018 to actually start back in further education

hopefully some big things happen soon, as we see with the refugee situation if the government wants to make things happen super fast they can, it is just whether they want to or not

They are working through august 2015 now. Now that there is no apparent cherry-picking, they are moving reasonably fast. They slowed down because they lost level space to the backlog. Now that the level space has been cleared (we are now into 2017's), they are picking up again.
