Hello everyone
Been following this thread for a while now, over the past few months i've managed to find answers to just about everything.
I just have a few queries. I applied back in August, got my AOR. Am I only able to link the application to myCIC once the sponsor is approved? No matter what i try, I always end up with 'no application found', however if I do the quick search for application status, it shows up there. Both my application, and the sponsor application. I just really wanna link it to myCIC for ease of access.

Also, for anybody using the googledocs inland timeline, I've noticed that many people have an 'Open Work Permit Received' date. I've never heard anything from CIC about the receipt of my work permit (which was in the same application package as the PR), will this be a problem, or is this just normal? Just wanna make sure before I'm on hold for hours until I get somebody at the other end that cannot help, as per usual CIC call centre.

Thanks

No, SA never receive any email, infect i found they have wrong email address for SA which i just updated yesterday.

But i linked SA and PA applications, and found status SA application status changed "Decision Made" same day medical requested.

We never got PA approval also but as per GCMS notes, may be it is also approved.
Interesting.
How were you able to link SA and PA applications together? Isn't myCIC just for PA?

Hello Everyone,
So I recently filed an inland sponsorship early november 2016 for my husband. However, he had an ongoing oinp application since February of 2016 with no response from them. I was wondering if we should call oinp and withdraw the application or it won't make a difference to the processing of the sponsorship application?

Thanks,

Both PA and SA can check status through myCIC and its different for both, however SA can see PA application as well.

i linked in July search thread on forum, there are steps to do that, i guess through GC Key login etc. I got medical request over there.
I believe you are referring to ECAS here where you login with the application number.

YAY. I got my OWP in the mail today. Step 1 accomplished. Apparently it was issued on November 16th. Faster than the average I guess. Application was submitted on August 11th. Good luck to everyone. Keep waiting for SA and the PR :)

you're talking about 2 different things here. "allowing people to immigrate and not help them" suggests the person has already immigrated and is landed, IMO. there are many free services for LANDED immigrants. the issue is many of these places do not offer services without AIP or proof of landing. For example, the federally funded English program LINC and assessment for services through Lasi World Skills require documentation of landing, eligibility for PR or refugee status. they will not allow those without this form to register as it can risk their funding for the program. these programs are audited by CIC, and documentation must be presented for EVERYONE who registers at the time of registration or the person is turned away. this isn't to say the places you listed don't provide free classes to spouses of canadian citizens who are not PR yet, however the link doesn't specify that those who are not PRs and don't have AIP can apply for these classes. If these are free classes, i'm going to assume those who are visitors are not eligible. Generally, the Language and Assessment Centre requires a landing document or AIP, as described above since they are more than likely providing classes through the LINC program.

What i'm talking about is different than free classes. what i'm saying is that the colleges who offer English programs outside the ones sponsored by CIC may allow spouses of canadian citizens who are not PR's yet pay the Canadian price for classes, not the international price. Free classes, in my experience as someone who worked for a LINC program provider is ONLY available to those with the proper documentation - AIP or a landing document.
Hi profiler
I am reading this post by him and i feel to my core the pain and heartache he is having.Hang in there time will pass .In Alberta i hear one can get alberta health benefit for prescribtions, dental etc, does this mean social assistance?(its applied by pple with low income).

Hi Everyone

I havent been reading this thread in a while because the waiting and constantly checking is kinda stressing me out. I was wondering though if anyone could help with a couple of questions i had...

1. Has anyone on this thread ever applied for an extension of the open work permit? If so how long did it take to be processed?

I sent off my application for an extension with proof that i have not worked in Canada for a full 4 years as per their work permit laws almost 3 months ago. Based on their 4 month turn around time for new work permits im hoping to have an answer by the end of December. Seeing as its an extension and not a new permit though my timeline may be incorrect and thats why im hoping someone else may have some feedback on this. I have never been able to link my paper application on my account and im concerned i have been waiting all this time and it has not even been received. I chose not to do it online because i provided a fair few documents to show that i had not been working in Canada for the full 4 years of the two work permits i have already been here on.

2. Does anyone have a contact number for the Vegreville office?

I would like to call them to check up on the status of the application and make sure that they actually did receive it! I really should have done that as soon as i sent it and not waited a couple of months!

Any comments anyone can share would be much appreciated!!!

Thanks!
