Good to know but confusing with that or this ink, and I remember someone say sometimes you have nice or rude cic agents

Call centre is hit and miss. Sometimes they are awesome. Sometimes they hate life and want you to feel their pain. I prefer not to call any more if I can avoid it. Even CSE's I find is hit and miss for quality. I recall a recent one with a question I had to restate by pasteing the response they sent me with an OBVIOUS error from their webform, and they refused to answer my question because the birth date WAS MINE and not MY WIFE'S.

Just little things with CIC... you know...

they work for the, Government of Canada I know they are well paid my grandma had cousin working for service Canada and service Ontario plus my godmother husband is retired from cra and they are unionized with good benefits for life, good pension, paid holidays plus paid sat holidays so why be crabby lol.

these agents and officers are like God and decide our faith that is why I pray they are always happy in good mood and partial when doing our case not having bad day or fightin with their spouse or bf or gf and neutral I know it's sounds silly

Me? Crabby? Nah. You have to care to have emotion ;)

I just refuse to use call centre agents, unless I know we speak the same "language" and we understand each other. Otherwise, is it worth their time to service my call? Is it worth the public's time for me to waste that resource? Is it worth my time to wait for 45 minutes to get that person who cannot even remotely answer my query?

As you see, it's a collosal waste.

it's true some of them can be nasty. @Profiler I know what you mean but Bell is worst so is Air Canada is the pits

Finally this morning myCIC was updated - background check in progress! No change in ECAS though, still app received.
I know it has been discussed before but any thoughts on how long this stage will last?

@profiler: regarding the blue/ black ink, all of my forms are black ink cause I filled them in electronically but all of my signatures are blue. It's common in Europe to sign only in blue ink so I had no idea here is totally the opposite. You think that means they will ask me to redo them all?!?!

I had to resend application to sponsor my wife and child
They entered Canada 5 months ago
Do they need to apply for extension of stay?
If so can it be done online?
they have Australian and American passports

Did you file for OWP as well? I suspect the dependant child you might need to extend stay. But if your partner has applied for the OWP, then your partner is under implied status when CICs mailroom receives the OWP app.

OWP application and fee was included this time (first time it wasnt - application came back because one form wasnt signed)

Then I am guessing the dependant child will need an extension. But I'll defer to anyone with experience here..

This is the agony for me, who cannot link my application in myCIC, I dont know if background check has started for me. It's frustrating to see the same "application received" in ECAS when in fact there are changes in my application. I tried linking it but to no avail, and I even contacted the CIC through email still no luck. Frustrating.

Did you try calling them to get help linking it?
