Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

@ Profiler: I have another query to you and belated thank you for the response day before yesterday. I applied for Inland Spouse PR (June 1 ) got AOR 1 & 2 already (June 22nd and 23rd). Now I did not apply for OWP cause I will anyway be a student up to coming June (PhD) after which I will be eligible for Post grad work permit (unless I become PR by then). Now, I was worried if by any chance I get a job before I get my PGP and I needed to start early, I will have no work permit to start work with. Also, I am not sure if they will extend the OWP program until next year. Now, Having said all that, do you think I should apply for OWP? One thing is money and other than that, If it comes to graduation time can I also apply for PGP while having OWP? Because if anything wrong happens to the application, I will need a status and PGP will give me that status for next couple of years.

So if it was me, I would apply anyway. Once they issue the OWP, the permit is valid until its expiry (most are 2yrs). Then you have lots of time. Takes 4mos to get.

Hi just wondering that is there anyway we can check status of sponsor ? I can't check my sponsor status , all i know is about me PA , my linked PR application shows my background check is in process but not sure what happen with my sponsor application , thanks

pS: when i tried to link , i couldnt link so many attempts but when i changed my country of passport to the country i had been to ( not my home country), it showed up and same as OWP too . Is it weird ? Should i report this to CIC agent? Thanks

Login using Sponsors DOB and Surname to ECAS or apply for GCMS notes (ask for sponsorship and permanent resident application notes), and supply the consent form.

May 16, 2016 I received the email from Canada Immigration that it has received our spouse sponsorship application. Does this mean I have been approved for part 1, approved sponsor? Does this also mean it will take another 2 years for my husband to be approved to be landed?

If her native language is not english or french, you have to submit 2 IMM 5406's -- one in english, and the same in her native.

I've just found this forum and I regret not knowing that there is a useful site prior to submitting my application.
Anyway, regarding to the quote, I submitted only one IMM 5406. The way I did was that I only wrote the names in my native language beside the English Names.
Does this mean my application will be returned due to lack of document ?? And if it's the case, I will have to wait about 2-3 months to get my application back ?? :-X
Also, if they return my PR application, will the application for OWP be returned as well ?

I really don't mind how long the PR approval will take, but the OWP is crucial for me. I'm currently temporary employed with a Canadian firm and my current work permit expires
at the beginning of April 2017. My contract ends in February, it would be a great comfort to know that I could get the new work permit before my current one expires.

Hard to say, they may accept one sheet with both there. Having the native is crucial.

If they return it should be in under a month. If you get an acknowldgement, its fine. If returned, then OWP will be returned too.

Yeah, that way you don't have to wait on the phone. And it's really not super important. Just a quick note to advise them that one of the positions you held you will be resigning from.

No that just indicates you are waiting for FC PR. To get OHIP you need AIP or a letter from your employer that states they intend to employ you for at least 6 months. Either case has a 90 day wait from when you apply

OWP only allows you to stay in Canada. It does't permit you to cross the border. For that you need a TRV/Visitor Visa/eTA (if you are from a non-visa requiring country).

The problem is the CBSA could refuse you re-entry for whatever reason. If they did that, then CIC could deem your application abandoned. They will permit a month or less in terms of travel, but the problem lies with the objectivity of the CBSA officer.
