My lawyer just forwarded me the email CIC sent to them last night. My husband has finally received his AIP letter!!! I am really happy just about the fact that CIC is working through our case after they paused for a month!

Profiler, your guess was right! You said I'll hear something either the 7th or this month sometime, and you were right. Just waiting for my husband's decision made letter or interview letter and i hope it's soon

It's better to do it now, there will be a 3-months period not covered, so it's better to start the clock on it as soon as possible. @profiler will be able to answer much better than me, but I would say that you need to bring the AIP letter along with a photo ID, plus something that will show he is residing in Ontario (lease or something like that). In Quebec, I could sign a form declaring that my wife was living with me, that served as a proof she was residing in Quebec.

And I just wanted to pop in and give an update... Or a lack of... So we just found out that you can request into the status of the immigration screening file from CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) by sending them a request with a consent form that can be found on their website (https://www.csis-scrs.gc.ca/scrtscrnng/index-en.php#bm02). So today we just did that, and now will sit tightly waiting for "up to 8 weeks" to hear from them...

Did he tell you?? Phone calls aren't that common, but do happen. Usually once they confirmed the sponsor and PA are still cohabitating, usually AIP is reasonably fast afterward (as they've finally touched your file). Check ECAS before bed, and sometime in the morning. I'd bet AIP is today, and if your security clearance is done, they can even DM ..

Thats good to hear. Thanks @profiler .. But I still didnt see anything updated in my CIC online account!. I checked the ECAS as well. But no information! How long will they take to update it?

Usually ECAS is updated daily.

Thanks for the post, it was helpful. Do you know if it´s true that there´s a limit of twenty photos per application now? I already made a "book" of over 100 pages and 200 photos...
Also, what about attaching documents such as letters from friends and family supporting our relationship?
