I love your life stories. Only Mama would be able to find someone going and returning on the same flight.

Mrs. P was traumatized by the first CBSA encounter and did not want her Mom to go through the same.

It's like all the Babushkas in the SLU community in GTA who refuse to travel alone and they call to find out if there is anyone travelling that they might know so they can travel with them, if they cannot travel with family members.

Actually, the mother in law found the lass .... sitting beside her ... on the tarmac in Moscow.

Does anyone on her know if, once you get PR and need to travel but dont have the PR card yet, do they give you any documentation to show that you are PR until the card arrives?

I just booked a trip home to Aus in November with my boyfriend/sponsor I dont have PR yet but I do have AIP and was just wondering on the off chance that i might be able to get PR before I go, if they will give me any documentation to say i am a resident without the PR Card which i doubt i would get on the very little chance that i got PR before then.

Yeah, when you land, they give you a very important document "Confirmation of Permanent Residence". If you need to travel without a PR Card, take that document to a High Commission in Oz, ans ask for a Travel Document. It will cost $50, and can only be used once to return.

So, the whole way, here is MIL asking a myriad of questions, and MIL was accompanyed through the airport to the exits!

You bet. And no. No charging. That would be me becoming that which I loathe. Consultants and Immi Lawyers are the scourge of the earth. If they didn't consistently lie to people or rip them off, I would understand and maybe accept. But I just don't want to be grouped in any way with them.

I miswrote -- you have to apply once you leave -- take the application package to a Visa centre (probably still the High Commission).

Oh shit that's no good. Your home owners policy won't cover water damage?? They tried to upsell us the extra "external water damage" clause last year... After we talked, they decided because I am way up on a hill, and the grade is higher than the neighbours, that we didn't need it...

My bro.... This weekend was a f'ing nighmere. . . for some unknown reason the power wire shorted out and came down in the backyard. Maybe tree maybe squerrel I don't know. . so we were out of power. And did the rain fall!!! Withing 15 mins we had 3 inches of water in the basement. . which is ALL carpeted. . . make matters worst, we don't have water coverage because back in the days my wife had water issues. . . so no f''''ing coverage. . . . .
So out of pocket. . we got 10 high power fans 3 humidifiers , . . . was just a damn nightmare.
So the house smells like a dozen dead deer's . . . I work like a slave this wkend
. . . so am seeking out a generator to prevent recurrence

I hear ya, and sorry to read the terrible story. If you hadda pinged me, I probably could have headed down to London. Did you get the water pumped out? Can I make a suggestion? Get a UPS for the sump pump....
