Of course you can call them. There is nothing "wrong" or "bad" with doing that. They do record the content of the call as a note on the file. But that isn't to say it's a bad thing.

The good thing is that your background check it done. Now you are probably in queue to get the DM with landing appointment and if you are going to have to land at Etobicoke office you may have to wait just a little longer.

So happy today. After waiting for almost 15 months we finally got the lading interview scheduled for July 20th. The email that I got states this:

Dear *************,


Your final determination for permanent residence interview has been scheduled at the above address on: July 20, 2017 at 9:00am. Please be prepared to wait up to 2.5 hours as interviews are conducted in order of arrival.

Please present this letter upon your arrival. Failure to appear for this interview will be perceived as a lack of interest in permanent residence and your application could be refused. Therefore, if you cannot attend this interview, please write or fax (780-495-6739) or email (CIC-Edmonton@cic.gc.ca) this office immediately and explain why.

So I have few questions in mind right now that I wanted to clear, here:
1. We don't have any DM letter sent to us, but is it safe to assume that we have got approved before we received this landing interview letter?
2. Can it be a relationship interview as well?
3. Why this letter says be prepared to wait 2.5 hours, does it normally say on everyone's landing's letter?
4. They asked me to bring Temporary Resident document Issued by CIC(Work permit, Study Permit, Visitor Record). Since I have been out of status I don't have any kind of permit. What should I bring with me? Or are they asking me to bring my previous Study permit and Work permit that had been issued to me in the past?

Bring a valid passport and a driver's licence, if you have a valid driver's licence.

You know it's a good day, when you find out your benefit plan has Travel Insurance (via Allianz) built into it. Print the card, hand it to the wife, and she will get the royal treatment

This is the landing letter. It would definitely mean you have a DM.

The wait is because they have scheduled the same time for others to land as well. Just be ready to wait is all they are saying.

Don't worry about bringing it. They know you are out of status (obviously). This is just a form letter. If they ask, tell them you are out of status.

Doesn't look like a relationship interview, I've noticed that not all offices use every exact generic emails. Nothin else matters this is it. You've got your landing interview!

Yesterday a case officer who had been working on our case called me and confirmed the address with me and told me that she is gonna make her decision in couple of weeks. I guess she was talking about landing because from 6th to 20th it's exactly 2 weeks. And today my representative called me with this good news. They have been waking me up in the morning from yesterday to give me good news, but I will take good news like these at any time. I don't mind.

Thank You so much Dominicantiguan. Yes we have the same timeline. We applied on April 27th 2016. And we got the medical request one after another. And then you got asked to submit new passport and Schedule A, but they asked me to submit Fingerprinting Police Report around same time again. I am hoping your turn is coming soon.
