Just received an email regarding the landing interview.

"
Dear Sir/Madam:

I am pleased to advise you that the processing of your application for permanent residence will be finalized at an interview that has been scheduled for:

DATE: 12/07/2017 TIME: Anytime between 3:00-3:30 PM LOCATION: 5353 Dundas Street West, Ground Floor, Etobicoke"

Safe to assume that it's on December 7th and not July 12th?

Hate this, the format it's not consistent.

Congrats Mtommy!!! Great news! What is your timeline.

Hi everyone I have a question I was asked for additional relationship information but it has been over 3 weeks I am worried now. Just incase the outcome is negative if anyone has experienced this do they send an email if its a negative decision or mail? And do they send the application back? Also what would be the best option applying Outland even though I have a work permit valid for 6 more months? Lastly lest say I apply for Inland again am I able to extend the spousal work permit?

Hi sylvain1,

CIC has refused to correct my work permit.

They stated in their email

"The documents completed for your admission to Canada as a temporary resident were issued based on the information you provided at the time of your application you provided. The information on your temporary resident document must match that on your passport, or on the documents that you provided as part of your application. The decision made on your application was based on all the information provided. As a result, it is our practice to only correct any minor biodata typographical/ editorial error(s) in information that were recorded by an Immigration Officer when processing an application or printing an immigration document. However major changes related for e.g. to changes in passport number, in your country of citizenship or birth, passport number, given/middle names and surnames after decision making on your initial application, in your employment situation including switching cities or changing positions [promotions or demotions], employer’s name, most of the conditions and/or remarks, permit validity and/or exit "

So I will wait until a month before it expires to apply for renewal or extension. I hope something good happens in the meantime.

Thanks for all the help in this forum...I wouldn't be able to submit my application and stay sane while waiting if it wasn't for you guys!!!

:)
I'm surprised, because they corrected it for my wife study permit, but we mentioned that we sent the application using the current passport and it was their mistake to use the previous one.

Hi @miranda21
How did you submit your proofs? What makes you think you will be refused?

Generally speaking, if you used Case Specific Enquiry (CSE; also now called webform) it will take them 30-60 days to attach those proofs to your file. Only then will an officer be able to view them and decide.

That said, they don't just refuse a case. If there is an issue, they will request more documents. If they are not satisfied with what you have submitted, they will send you a Procedural Fairness letter to notify you that they are not satisfied. You'll be given more time to provide more proofs to satisfy them.

They can also decide to resolve the concern at an interview.

You can understand why they cried. Tears of joy..

Actually, despite looking like we "follow" the US, we are like minded with much of the west. UK, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and indeed the US. Rule? Not really the Canadian style. You have to be measured and forward-thinking WRT resources. You want them to also be available for your kids, and your kids-kids.

At this point, most of the mainstream media are suggesting that, in the absence of US leadership, the "leaders of the free world" are a three-way-tie: Angela Merkel, Emmanuel Macron, and indeed Justin Trudeau. Whether you believe that or not. I do know that it's more the Canadian style to lead from the back seat.

$0.05 anyway, for what it's worth.

+10...

Indeed. I *could* send them a note to help them fix it..... but it's friday and it is after 11am....

Seems to be a bit better, so I will stand down :).

Thank you for the info. I sent more proofs by courier the file was too big. I read most people getting a SA in 2 weeks in the forum.

When did you submit?

The file was received in Mississauga on the 12th of June

2016? 2017? I am confused here. I am trying to understand where your case would be in processing, so I can zero-in on the correct answer to give you.

If we assume 2016, then your case probably has SA and they asked for more proofs to evaluate membership of the Family class (for AIP purposes).

Via courier it will still take 60 days for them to scan and attach the proofs to the file.

March 2016 applicant ,got Aip and Sa since March 2017 and up till now no decision made yet...even after MP spoke with them...I am sooo fed up of this process,it's over 16 months already..

March 30, 2016 applicant also. Got AIP and then SA in May 2017. Background check still in process.
