Hi,

So this is my situation. My wife is sponsoring me and I live with her in Quebec as a temporary worker.

Since March 2020 I have been receiving employment insurance and I saw on the internet that as a temporary worker, I was eligible since I have worked a sufficient number of hours, etc

However, we live in Quebec and while we started phase 2 of sponsorship with Quebec (CSQ and undertaking application), we saw that my wife, the undertaker and sponsor, needs to reimburse all financial and social aids to the Government of Canada,

Now, we don't know what to think. Does this mean that if her sponsoring gets accepted, we will have to reimburse the government for Employment Insurance?

Please if any of you can clarify, I didn't find anything on the internet,

Have a great day guys and thanks in advance for the help!

EI does not count as a social aid as it is a program that you yourself paid into. No need to worry about having to pay back EI.
