Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum, husband (sponsor) is living in Canada I'm living in Colombia, we sent our outland application to Mississauga on Feb 17th, received AOR on March 18th and SA on March 22nd. Our application was sent to Bogota VO, but I don't know if it got sent to it already or if they received it. Do they inform you? I was also wondering how much time would I have to wait for AOR2? Hope all your process speed up, it seems as they are speeding all cases.
Hello... well in my own experience I will say with cic you never know, they do inform when they revieve your application package but that doesnt mean they are working on it, so my best advise is to be patient and dont think too much in the time cus you can get dissapointed so the best thing you can do is wait and be very positive, as I say before my entire process took 12 months, so set up your mind and be ready to wait, if it comes before exellent you are lucky hehehhe Im telling you this becouse every case is different and you never now what happens during the process, I wish you the best and hopefully you will hear from cic very soon!!!!

Hello Pau,
Thanks for the heads up, I have mentalized myself that there's a lot of waiting that will go on. I finally received my AOR2 today, stating that my application is in Bogota VO. I wanted to ask you if you got your credentials of your occupation and if you did, how do you do that? I have a bachelors in art degree and luckily for my profession I don't think I need a license. Thanks once again for answering back.

My husband and I are still waiting g the LONG waiting game. I am sponsoring my husband from Colombia. We have a very complicated case. We started the application in September 2014, I was approved as a sponsor in December 2014 and that's when Bogota received part 2 of the application. In July 2015 we were contacted for an interview and brought more pics etc. September 2015 we were asked for medical reports for my husband and my step daighter, police record check, finger prints, he had to aquire his army card and authorization to return to Canada due to his previous removal order and repayment of all removal costs. It was hard to get this ALL done within 30 days and with such a hefty amount of money around almost 5k. But we did it! We were told the finger prints take 22 weeks. Which was over in February. We are now patiently waiting for an answer any day now. We are on 19 months. We are an unusual case. But I just want everyone to know sometimes things don't work out as planned and you may feel like giving up hope along the way. But it will all be worth it in the end. I'm hoping to united with my husband in the next few months. We usually try to see each other ever 6 months but right now I haven't seen him since June 2015 because we haven't had the funds. That has been even more difficult but time will come soon. We have been apart since December 2013 other than short visits but we get closer everyday.
Shy93 I am in the same process now I made a refugee claim in canada and I was denied and they give me a removal order but at that time my wife had a miscarriage so she was sick 6 moth after I was deported from canada to colombia. I send my application on Feb 1 2016 and I got a S/A on March 17 a week after on March 23 I got a e-mail from bogota saying that they received my application but I didn't send my medical examinations should I do them without request or I should wait also now I came to know that I have to do my RCMP and G4S should I do then and send them or I have to wait f for request also how is the process to get a ARC what do you know about that ? Thank you and good luck

Hi Humblee,
I think MarCar is talking about the "libreta militar". I also applied on February 2016, in fact we almost have the same timeline.
When my husband sent our application my medical's were about to expire, I already started searching the information about police clearance, my husband says to wait until they request my medical exam's again to send the police clearance even if I already received my AOR2. Even though on another forum that Liiaa (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/sponsorship-through-bogota-20152016-t405153.0.html#new) created a member that is going through the Bogota VO suggested to start gathering all documents and send them.
I have a question, what are RCMP and G4S? All this terms are pretty much unknown to me.
Have a great day!

Thank you Humblee... No, he was not in the army. We did not send his "libreta militar", really an oversight of our part. So they sent us a word document for us to fill out about his Military duties, range... etc... Apparently that's the last they check when they are ready to make a decision... so keeping my fingers crossed :D

Hi JJ628 it seems we are in the same boat. The RCMP is the police clearance from canada but that only apply for the people who use to lived in canada and the G4S is were you get your police clearance in colombia. Did you used to live in canada ??

The problem is that I don't have the "libreta militar" because I didn't give the service and if I request it will cost me a lot of money because the will charge me interests. I hope they don't ask for it also who has experience getting a RCMP and ARC please I need some advice with this thanks

No I have never lived in Canada, just USA for 6 years but my family and I came back before I was 18. So I guess I'll just need the police clearance from here. I think they do ask for the "libreta militar", I mean, I do think it's a requirement, not sure though.

Hello guys..yes you need it from eveey country toi lived, since you were 18, in my case i lived in 3 different countrys, but i didnt sent my police checks when i sent my application cus in some.of them you need to wait for instructions, for example in mexico you need the embassy letter to get it and you need to wait until embassy contact you cus that police check is only good for like a month, the usa one in the other hand you can request it and send it with ur application but is only good for 12 months so if ur application takes longer they will request for a new one so if u guys lived in usa after the age of 18 get that fbi clerance asap cus it takes 3 months to get the results with them, thats one of the things that cause delay in my application when i reached the 8 months waiting period i decided to check the fbi and i found out that waiting period i went nuts, so i send the fingerprints, i got interviewed in september and after that is the security part and of course if i had all my police checks ready that was it is only like one months period since they check in the canadian databaseand thats it, but mine came in october..the colombian only take 72 hours...amazing and the mexican took 1 month, i was lucky must ppl oitside mexico said takes around 3 months too like usa..so you guys if you already sent ur applications 7 months ago i will recomend to send ur fingerprints to fbi asap that way when cic asks for the police checks from usa you guys can send that right away, the colombian one you need to swnd your application number and pay in banco popular and send the company the copy via email, they send the reaults in 72 hours straight to embassy...ok guys if you have more quwstions let me know, good luck

The RCMP I think its valid for 6 months or 1 year like the medicals. You have to get your ink fingerprints taken in your home country and send it to company that will then digitize them and get the police record from you. That is how I did mine.

In the Guide they request police criminal records from each country you lived in for more than 6 months , However they are saying not to provide one if you were living in Canada until they request it .

Hi Liaa ,
were you requested by the Visa Office to provide the RCMP criminal record ? in the guide it say to wait until they request it !
