Sponsorship through Bogota 2015-2016

Mine expire, that's why I'm asking, we were supposed to file the application last year.

We waited to be requested because on the cic website it said that for Colombia applicants should wait for request, the same was with the rackground check

I just found this forum and there is some excellent information here. I wish i knew about this sooner.
I am sponsoring my wife through the Bogota VO and we just received the passport request this week.
Our timeline is as follows:

App Received (Mississauga): Sep 16, 2105
AOR1: Nov 5, 2015
SA: Nov 20, 2015
AOR 2: Dec 16, 2015
Addn'l Doc's Request: Feb 10, 2016
Passport Request: Apr 6, 2016
Passport Received: TBD

Some additional notes: We completed the medicals prior to sending in the application. We also sent in the police checks as soon as we received AOR2, did not wait for the request. I pre-paid the RPRF as well. The additional documents request was for 4 new passport photos as well as our marriage certificate (although I already sent it with the original application).

You're welcome. We did the medicals prior to the application and sent the proof of the examination in the package. Given that it is valid for 12 months and not knowing how long the process would take, I put a reminder in my calendar to re-do/re-send the medicals prior to expiration and hopefully avoid any delays. Not sure if that would have helped but it was the plan.

Thanks MarCar2015. I hope you're process gets done soon. At least we know things are moving and applications are being approved. I was mentally preparing myself for a few more moths of waiting and was very happy and surprised to see the passport request come through. All previous communication from Bogota VO were to my wife's email but for the passport request they sent it to me as well

I totally understand your anguish. It is heart breaking not knowing when we will be able to actually start a life together in Canada. My husband used to live here in Ecuador but since he left, it makes it more difficult for myself and the kids.. I truly hope everyone here has a speedy process.

Hi Ace_123 We have the same timeline. Our app was received in mississauga also sept 16th 2015. On February 11th I was asked to submit the 4 new passport photos but since then nothing, no news. You give me hopes that perhaps I will get PPR soon.

My husband send them an e-mail stating that he needed BGC for family class sponsorship to Canada and they send them a few forms he need it to fill up via e-mail, and he send them back everything in pdf form. It was rather easy. Now that I think about i, it has been the easier step so far!

I don't know if this is information is also for your cases, one person from the February forum (the one I'm in) called CIC for something related about their case and one of the responses he got was that CIC are currently working on Sepfember and October applications. Hopefully this information is good for you guys. Have a great night!
