I sponsored my husband, who is still in lebanon, a year and 10 days ago. Immigration contacted him in March (March 17 2016) and asked him several questions on the phone about himself, his work and his family. we figured that must have been the interview. we were not contacted at all after that and his medicals expired a month and 1 week ago. no-one has been in contact with us regarding our application and we have been waiting. I contacted the MP to try and figure out what has happened with our application and was told in may my husband should be here (in canada) before september then in august I was told not until January.the status online went from in process to decision made 1 month ago and still nothing. does anyone know what this means its very frustrating all we want is to be together its just been too long i thought processing times were going down with the new government ??

no i have not i did not know that was possible will it effect anything with the case? and how do i do that?
Some people report it causing officers to take a look at the case, because they are notified. It wouldn't do any worse damage than contacting an MP (if there is any).Marwa 0308 said:
You can make a request for the notes under the Access to Information act: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp . Because you will be applying for him (he is not in Canada, therefore you would have to make the request) you need to have him fill out the consent form IMM 5744: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5744.asp .Have him fill out section A and sign. Scan and email to you. You print and fill out section C, and sign. Scan and send to CIC atip with the $5 fee. Request: Sponsorship and Permanent Residence Application notes, and Medical notes. Wait 30 days, and you should have the case notes that officers generated while working on your case.
Once you have these, you can get an idea as to what has been happening...
i was told by the MP they were doing a final security check (this was told to me in may) forgot to mention, then i was told the same thing about 2 weeks ago how long does this usually take because its been a long time . i know several people who have applied after me and their spouse has been contacted to do interviews face to face have been told to redo medicals and some who are now in canada should i be worried? like I've never been contacted and no additional information was requested.
It's hard to say. The middle east can be difficult to get intelligence from, so they may be having difficulty there. But the case notes will tell you exactly what the officers are doing and waiting for. I should point out, that I applied inland in 2016. One of the cohort for inlanders in 2016 who applied just after us didn't receive a request for information, so their case stalled until they got that. Not that I think the same is happening here, but the notes will at least tell you where things are at.Marwa 0308 said:
