Hi everyone I am seeking some wisdom on the process of sponsoring my wife to be. Our wedding will be in Uk in June and upon that the plan is either for me to remain in UK and work (im a british citizen also) and apply outland and do some contract work while our application is being processed. Other option is that if I don't find a job come back to canada and my wife come with me and then we start the application.
As a british citizen she can come as a visitor for 6 months she has a ETA. At boarder services should she declare we are married and she is visiting and the plan to apply for PR?. I assume she should book her ticket in such a way that when she extends it there will not be a penalty.
Upon entry to Canada with me the next question is...inland or outland. I understand for inland she can apply for a open work permit (OWP) ans it takes up to 4 months?...and then she can apply for OHIP upon getting the OWP? should be buy health insurance from Uk to cover herself ? and for how long? also she cant leave canada while doing the application.
Outland she can apply while being in Canada however she cant apply for a OWP ?
