sponsoring relative income- Super Visa

I hope to sponsor my mother for a super visa; she is in the US. I don't have the required income, but my husband does. Will that be considered adequate for sponsorship for her? Can he be the sponsoring person, even though we are common-law? Anyone have experience with this situation???? My mother is 85, I'm the only daughter, and driving 8 hours when she has an emergency is not practical! Just being her caregiver is not practical. I'm feeling hopeless about this. The alternative is moving her to St. Lawrence County, New York, just across the border.....

You would sponsor her and your husband would co-sponsor. Note that she has to pass a medical to be approved and also prove that she has no plans on remaining in Canada long term (i.e. the US will still be her home and she's only visiting Canada). Also, I'm sure you're aware that you will have to purchase insurance to cover her stay.

Okay, I didn't know about co-sponsorship. I've looked into the medical insurance..pretty steep, I know. Thanks, scylla...
