sponsoring PR for newborn child born in USA

I have a valid Canada PR and I am currently living in USA.
I am planning to move to Canada in August,2018. We had a baby born USA in January,2018 and he does not have Canada PR yet.

What are the options I have and the processing times ?

Q1) Can I start PR application for my new born baby living in USA ? if yes what is the processing time for the baby to get PR ?

Q2) If above is not a option do I have to move and then start application process ?
Iam planning to visit India for few weeks(max 3 weeks) once I move to Canada.
Q3) Can I travel during the application is in process ?

Are there any other options to get a visa that will cover for Baby Health insurance after coming to Canada and while PR application is in process ?

Q1) You can’t sponsor someone if you are a permanent resident living outside Canada.

Q2) You have to reside in Canada to be eligible to sponsor your dependant child for PR in Canada.

Q3) Yes......as the sponsor.....you can travel out of Canada for short trips while the application is been processed......if you move out of Canada permanently, it may become a problem......as PR should reside in Canada to be eligible to sponsor their dependant child for PR in Canada.

Q4) Since your baby was born in USA......i guess the baby should be an American citizen by birth.....American citizens are visitor visa exempt to Canada.........you as PR and baby as American, you should have no problem entering Canada but am not sure about Health insurance for baby.

Hi - I am in a same situation and I plan to move to Canada in July 2019. I became PR in Sep 2017 and have been living in US since then. I had a baby in Jan 2019 and now plan to move to Canada. Can you please share your experience and if I need to take any precaution ?

we had gone through these.. now applied for my baby's Canada PR and got receipt saying that application was received and sent a UCI number but dont know how long it will take , I dont know where to see that

5-11 months usually. Are you compliant with your RO? It seems like you may have landed in 2014.

To sponsor a child you should be compliant with your RO. We have seen CIC approve some applications in error but not a good idea if you don’t meet RO.

Some have been approved even though the parents weren’t compliant with their RO. They should have been refused and not meeting RO investigated.

I believe that's your opinion. According to their website, it does not has this requirement at all. All it needs is a PR status and that's it. But no doubt, that will trigger CIC to flag a redlight on the applicant's RO investigation.
That's just what I read from the website, maybe you have other insights to share.

They would be refused because they aren’t compliant with RO so the process of losing PR would start. Wouldn’t make sense to award PR to their child until CSiC knows the outcome of the parents PR status status.

Well it would just make sense that if a PR wanted to sponsor someone that they themselves should be compliant, otherwise, what’s the point of having RO ?
