Hi I am planning to sponsor my parents in 2016, We do meet all the requirement but just had one question in mind. As my wife's PR filed under spouse sponsorship category is still under process and she is not a permanent resident at this point so she cant be my cosigner but can I add her as a co signer at a later stage when she become permanent resident. The reason being as per CIC website we have to maintain this income requirement for 4- 5 years depending upon processing time just thought this might help if something goes wrong.

Has anyone done this after submitting the application?

Thanks

I have one question if anyone can help.....
I am going to apply for my parents in 2016. I was not married in 2012,2013, 2014 but in 2015 I was married. My income is within the required income to apply for all these years. But will cic need my 2012, 2013 and 2014 income to have 4 members cut off(which include my wife) or 3 members cut off as during that period I was not married ?

Even though you were not married in 2012, 2013 and 2014, I think you still need to meet the LICO as if you had a wife in 2012-2014 since it is based on your current martial status, not past martial status.

In other words, 4 members cutoff for 2012, 2013 and 2014.

I may not be 100% correct but I rather meet 4 member cutoff for 2012, 2013, 2014 even though I was single at that time. I wouldn't want to wait and find out that my parents PGP PR get rejected after years of waiting because I assume 3 members for 2012, 2013 and 2014 as a single person despite being married at time of submitting application.

4 , no brainier in this

by the way Jan 2016 people can take some solace that number of applications for parents will be 10000 instead of 5000 . So someone getting their application reached same day is safe in count

Just because a politician makes a promise during a campaign doesn't mean it's actually going to happen.

Hello,

My application for sponsoring my dad was received on January 14, 2015. The PGP process is from 2015 (new one).

Does anyone have the same timeline as mine? If yes, have you received any letter requesting for sponsor's docs. update?

Thank you, Smiley

Allie

Allie,

As far users reported here, the 5000 quota of 2015 PGP applications were filled on first 2 days (Jan 2 and Jan 5). Any application reaching CIC-Mississauga after 12 pm (noon) on Jan 5 were not accepted and later returned. Those of us who were lucky enough to be accepted received AOR via email and/or E-Cas after few months. No updates after that.

If your application reached CPC-M on Jan 14, 2015, it's most likely that it wasn't accepted. Was your payment accepted (like credit card/bank draft charged? Payment charge by CIC is an initial sign of application acceptance. If your app was not accepted, you should focus on 2016 PGP and try to reach CPC-M on first day PGP re-opens.

Hi guys,
I am one of the 2015 PGP applicants and we applied as family size 4: myself, my husband, and my parents.
Our first child is coming by the end of this year. My concern is our income for year 2011 won’t be enough for family size 5. Will this cause my sponsorship case fail?

It doesnt work like that. When you apply for pgp, you meet lico for 4 for past up to time of application. Any future additional family members added during pgp application, the family must meet lico of 5 for year baby was born and must continue to meet lico for 5 until parents gets PR. In your case, once the baby is born, you must meet lico of 5 for 2015 assuming baby born in 2015 and onward.

Hi Rossei,

I sent the application on the first week of January 2015. My CC was charged and the we got a notification on Jan. 14, 2015 saying "in process". However, we haven't received any other communication so far... I'm wondering if they are still working on 2011 cases... or if they've started working on 2015 cases already...

Thank you,

Regards,

Allie
