I have the same issue.

The problem is does CIC check the MNI table of 2012 for 2012 income, MNI 2013 for 2013 income and so on OR they check the income based on the most recent MNI?
The table will be updated on the Guide 5772 for 2016 PGP applicants. What you see now on Guide 5772 is meant for 2015 applicants. Hence, it lists income for 2011, 2012 & 2013. Once it's updated for 2016, you will see MNI for 2012, 2013 & 2014.

To answer your question, yes, CIC will verify your income (for specific year) from this table.

Why don't they accelerate all family class cases from around the world, if they can , instead of just focusing on the Syrian families? Is it only Syrian families who need to be urgently joined to each other? Is it only Syria in war?

Hi all,
I am sponsoring my parents from Crimea, which is a disputed territory between Russia And Ukraine (not recognized as Russian territory by Canada). The issue is that Ukraine has blocked all mail services to Crimea coming through Ukraine. Should they put their address as Ukraine or Russia in their application?
If they choose to use their Ukrainian address, no mail service will be rendered. We are applying through Ukraine - will they be sent any correspondence by Canadian Immigration? What would you suggest to specify in the application?

So I was going through form IMM5768E and came across the bullet number 9 - "Total income available to sponsor". It reads as "Add amounts in 16(h) and 19(h) and enter the total for each year. If this amount is less than the amount of minimum necessary income above, you do not meet the sponsorship eligibility requirements. Do not send you application"

The above is question 8 is where you have to "Indicate the minimum income required in order to sponsor the number of persons included in question 7 based on the Federal Income Table for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship."

Now let's say I was eligible to apply for 2015 year, in that case I would have entered $37,708 for question 8 for a family of 2.

Problem is that for year 2011, the NOA is for $37000 only. The MNI for 2011 says you need $35,976 so you should be fine but question 9 says you check your income based on question 8.

I understand your concern. But if you apply in 2016, you will enter the income for 2012, 2013 & 2014. Does your scenario still apply for any of these years?

If it does, which means you are marginally over MNI for a year but lower than most recent MNI (2014), CIC may still accept it. But they will be asking for NOA's for coming years (2015, 2016 etc.) from you down the line. Not many people have such cases, so I really cannot bring forth an example here.

You need to meet the MNI as per the chart in each of the 3 preceding tax years, based on your family size at time of application.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5772ETOC.asp#table1
So in your example with a family size of 2 (assuming single person, no kids, with just 1 parent), you will need to show last 3 CRA income tax forms that meet:
2012 - 36,637
2013 - 37,708
2014 - 38,000+ (amount TBD)

You don't have to meet the 2014 requirement in all preceding years, each year will have a different MNI requirement according to the table.

Hey I got a question for you guys.

For spousal sponsorships, it is well known that an application that's well put together, complete, no missing documents or signatures, and sufficient documentation, will result in processing times that are significantly lower than the posted times on CIC's site. For example, Singapore had a 30 month processing time last year, but my wife got her PR visa in about 6 months.

Regarding PARENT sponsorships, does anyone know if the same thing happens as well? It would seem so considering Stage 1 has a 4 year processing time, and the overseas visa office has a 6 year processing time (using Singapore VO as an example), meaning a 10 year total time, which I know is not true.

Also, the Conservative government says due to their 5000 yearly cap and efforts to reduce the backlog, they're on track to reduce the processing time to approximately 2.5 years for 2015-2016. Even their website produced a chart that shows this. Also a news article says people should expect processing times be cut in half this year. But looking at the processing times on their website, most VOs aren't even near 2.5 years right now. Does anyone know if this short processing time will become a reality in the near future?

I think you need to make a separate topic/thread for 2016 applications. This way we can track the process better. Each time I receive a notice from this thread I think there is a new progress/question, however, for the 2016 applications there will be nothing to evaluate or consider now!

Agree with Fneda!! 2016 applicants can refer this thread to clarify their questions but better to start their own thread.

Thanks Mikey for bringing this up! I would like to have more insights about this too because most information seem to be conflicting with factual data now.
