I am just referring to official publications by CIC. I posted a link to OB353 above.
The thing is that procedures have been changed on July 18, 2011. Before July 18, 2011 applicants first submitted only sponsorship forms. And then if it's approved, applicants were asked to submit PR forms.

After July 18, 2011 applicants submitted both sponsorship and PR forms together. That's why I expect the second half of 2011 to be processed faster. Yes, CIC has the right to request any additional and updated documents at any stage, but it's not required to do it for every applicant.

The letter or email which is being sent to everyone is generic and requires everyone to provide all the listed forms and documents as per last year. Doesn't look like much has changed pre or post July 2011 as far as paperwork is concerned.

Also as I mentioned there still seems a long queue for processing for those still waiting from 2010-early 2011. I've had no movement on my case since sponsorship approval 7 months ago while so many others haven't even had their sponsorship stage approved yet. Over one year to check documents just to approve the sponsor gives you an idea of the current system still struggling to cope with the volume of applicants.

I don't think it's of any issue if you mail the application from Florida as long as you're eligible to sponsor. But would you make it to 5,000 cap (which fills up rather quickly) if you mail from out of country? Do you want to take this risk? FYI, this year, the cap reached its limit in one and half day.

Though it's ok sending the application from the States, but I would highly suggest that you mail it out from Toronto.
It'd be a war zone on the first few days. You'd better make sure your application arrive at CIC on the first day.
Do you have any friend or family member in Toronto can take care of the package for you while you're on vacation?

I'm temporary living outside of Canada (2-year contract in the USA), but planning to permanently return to Canada in Nov or Dec. 2015. I want to sponsor my parents in 2016. On the one hand, I seem to check all the right boxes - citizen, living in Canada and not planning to leave, enough Canadian-sourced and Canadian-taxed income in every year going back probably 10+ years, even when I was in the US.

BUT

My 2013 printout will be marked as "emigrant" and 2014 Option C printout will be marked as non-resident. Both will have enough Canadian-sourced income shown, but will probably raise flags anyway... I'm wondering if that's a big deal and if I can do anything to improve my chances.

If you plan to come back to Canada end of 2016, and don't think you can really sponsor your parents until Jan 2019. You will need to show 3 years of Canadian sourced income before submitting application. Your US income will not count toward lico income qualification.

I plan to come back November 2015, and I have sufficient income in Canada (Canadian-soruced) and on Canadian option C printouts for all years, even when I was in the US.

Sorry for the typo, I meant end of Dec 2015. As long as you go enough Canadian source income to cover 2012, 2013 and 2014 to meet LICO of each year and they are reflected in the option C printout, then you can submit your application Jan 2016.

Hi

Is the only way to get Option C printout is through calling?

I have been trying to get a hold of them but I always get a busy signal.

Hi,

If anybody can help with printing of forms,I could not print the few forms as it gives error as below

To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

and is there anyway i can order forms directly from cic ? and once forms are filled up what is the courier address , i think normal mailing and courier addresses are different.

Right click and download the form first. If you have Acrobat Reader/Writer in your PC, you shouldn't have any problem opening the forms.

good evening everyone
i have one question!
i am planing on sponsoring my parents in 2016
but i am confused about one thing

Form -
Financial Evaluation for Parents and Grandparents sponsorship (IMM 5768)

Question7-9 under financial requirement.

question 7 - total numbers of applicants ..... answer is 5(me, my husband, our daughter, my mom and dad)

question 8 - minimum necessary income - answer 63.833 (this is for 2014)

question 9 - Total income availabe to sponsor ..... and this is where i get confused. i have to enter totals for three years - 2013,2012,2011, and then its says - if this amount is less than the amount of the minimum necessary income above, you do not met the sponsorship eligibility requirements. do not send your application!

in 2011 and 2012 our income is less than 63.833 for sure! so it means we cant sponsor my parents? or they are looking only for last taxation year!?

thank you so much

First of all, $63,833 for 5 persons is for the year 2013 (not 2014). You have to wait till CIC updates this form and the MNI table.

Q8) You will put MNI for 5 persons from the year 2014 when CIC updates the table

Q9) I don't understand you here. There are 3 separate boxes for 3 recent taxation years. When CIC updates the form, you will see 2014, 2013 and 2012. You will need to put your actual income from your NOA's for the respective years. And these incomes will have to be over the MNI level.

In your case,

For 2012, your income (+ cosigner's income if applicable) has to be over $62,023
For 2013, your income (+ cosigner's income if applicable) has to be over $63,833
For 2014, your income (+ cosigner's income if applicable) has to be over $63,833, perhaps over $65,500 (you have to wait till MNI table is updated)

FYI, if you look at the bottom left of each page of this IMM5768 form, you will see 11-2014 printed which means the form was last updated in November, 2014.

You need to meet LICO for 2012, 2013 and 2014. So if your 2012 income doesn't meet it, then no you can't sponsor parents in Jan 2016,

If you do qualify in 2013... then you can use income from 2013, 2014 and 2015 to apply when program opens up again in Jan 2017.

I have the same issue.

The problem is does CIC check the MNI table of 2012 for 2012 income, MNI 2013 for 2013 income and so on OR they check the income based on the most recent MNI?
