The 2010 spreadsheet you mention is actually for cases filed up to 30 April 2011. For the final batch of cases before the PGP programme was closed ( 1st May 2011 to 5 Nov 2011) they are yet to be started.

How many are these cases any number 50K?

Recently one of my friend's parents get medical request. He filed for parent sponsorship in early 2011

I received an email that my application is received, with a file number. Is this AOR? I still can not check the status online!

When did you receive your AOR email? Would you mind updating the spreadsheet?

Thanks, and sorry for delayed response. I received it about 2-3 weeks ago. but I still can not see my file online, I guess it means that it is not in process yet?!

Don't worry too much, sometimes there are surprises from CIC too.

We filed for parents back in 2009, and sponsorship got approved in Jan. 2013, and by Sept 2013 we had visa issued and parents landed too.
Our file went to Paris office, their timeline for parents was over 40 months, but we got finalized within few months. We had 3 teenage dependents too on file so not bad in the end.
Some offices are slow like Singapore, Islamabad, etc but some are relatively fast. But eventually all will be decided. Get parents to keep their health in good, by daily walk, care of diet, etc so that when medical time comes, it goes well.

When our file was at CPC-M, it seemed like everyone's case was being approved before ours and it seemed as if we were in the slowest queue, but it picked up good pace at the visa office. Now their PR Cards are already 1.5 yrs old!

A lot also depends on how organized and easy your file is. We had also included a detailed letter on pretty much every document and person in the file. Remember CIC wants everyone's history since age 18(not the last 10 yrs even if the guide says so, so make sure personal history and activities are dated from since age 18 - if it is hard to remember addresses and dates, use approximate and indicate that in a letter with signatures). No gaps, include everything since age 18. Try to get the PCC's done as well since in some countries it takes time, and also a lot of fees/money.

Folks! My Ecas was just updated! Indicating the date that my application was recieved.

Dear All,

I'll be short.

I've recently received my passport with stamped visa and hope to land in August 2015. My parents live with me in UAE and we've lived here since 1993, therefore it is next to impossible for my parents to stay/settle in Pakistan. Since my parents are on my visa in UAE, therefore, once I leave UAE, my parents won't have any visa to stay in UAE.

I was hoping to apply for a super-visa as soon as I arrive in Canada however it requires a job, tax returns, minimum income etc.

Can anyone please suggest a way how I can call my parents in Canada as soon as possible.

On a separate note, my paternal uncle lives in Canada and has a big house and hence, no issue of accommodation or such issues.

Many thanks!

A regular visitor visa is the only immediate option available to your parents.

Given the fact that your parents have no ties to their home country and will have no legal status in their country of residence, I see little chance of them being approved for visitor visas. CIC would consider them to be a very high overstay risk.
